Berserker Mage
It's pretty goof for taking out enemies, but with only spells at your disposal, you could easily be taken out by a ffed weapon in 1-3 hits
But with Second Chance, he would have…well, a Second Chance. If you're paying attention, in-game enemies can't really surprise you, and if they do he cant just wipe them out and re-cast Second Chance.
This looks like it could be pretty good. I've never seen a Mage with Hyper Mode before because they usually have too low Vitality in the first place to take the risk. I might adapt one of my builds to this and see how it does in PvP.
One thing, though: take Faith down to 18. It's nice to round things off, but just stick with the basic requirements. For PvP, being exact and finding the absolute best place for your points is how you win.

Ask my anything. About Magic, that is.
When One-Time Revival kicks in, you lose Hyper mode. You then have to wait about 20 seconds with Makoto because getting hit, especially in later difficulties, will instantly kill you.
Hyper mode mages are typically seen during co-op, when they are sure there's at least one demon fodder around.
I realize that, but with Insanity Catalyst, Monk's Head Wrappings and Ring of Magical Sharpness you'll still do great damage. They would have the Makoto draining them down to Hyper Mode the whole time, but still do enough damage during the wait to keep their enemy wary. And when they get the oppurtunity, they could try to re-cast Second Chance. In PvE this would generally be no problem, but with PvP….yeah, it's a risk.

i've been experimenting with this build and it's a love-hate deal. You kill almost everything except bosses and BP's with 2 or 3 hits from firespray in NG++, but you also die A LOT. Rolling skills are a must, no doubt. i prefer to have a high faith stat for a third/fourth miracle slot, enabling the use of the only 100% reliable AoE magic i have seen, God's wrath, evacuate, and an optional miracle. it also gives the option of having second chance+evac+optional instead of GW in the case that mp and/or items run out or you become overburdened (which occurs VERY often with low VIT stats). i manage to kill almost anything in one or two hits from Firestorm. IMO: i like the option of using the sticky compound longbow while berserked to quickly take out the bigger enemies from a greater distance, so it may be worth it to invest in str and dex. higher STR also enables the use of a better shield (DSS).
In the left hand woulnt it make more sense to have the kris sword
For anyone running this build make sure not to drop Faith to 18 as Nick stated, talisman of beasts runs off both faith and magic. Though if you are running insanity catalyst go ahead, but without a quick second chance this become extremely hard to play.
Also preference but if you want to be pure DMG. I drop vital/endurance to default. Vital since you are already at 30% health and in soul form if you are running for DMG so one hit spells death. Always run with second chance on. Drop Int to about 30. And dump into Magic/Faith. I keep my spice full in stock most the time tho.
Hey, this build is pretty cool. Gotta try it. But I have to ask, does it really die in 1 hit?
i think a crescent kilij is much better the the crescent falchion, the extra boost is damage is a lot better and a few extra stats are all that is required plus your only really saving about 4 shards of darkmoonstones with the falchion which you can easily farm the reeper in 4-2. also if you want a bigger sword you can also make do with the crescent Flamberge if your willing to wait and farm for it, but i would recomend that till much later in the game when you have better resources for it. usually i go with kilij and in NG+ ill change it up with the flameberge.
I think u should increase str to 14 imo . To gain access to some powerful moon weps like mirdan hammer / +5 moon 2handed Uchigatana
which have better move sets and alot more damage to pressure any other builds . Also you can use the makoto sword which you have equip
Also you have access to compound bows to kill things that magic won't reach :)
btw the mirdan hammer in hyper mode is pretty awesome
maybe 37 / 37 magic faith or drop endurance to
14
or
38 magic 38 faith 18 end
i would personally have 12 or 18 STR to use Makoto, lowering INT to 30 because that is all that is really needed. That 300 attack rating becomes formidable when paired with hyper mode and 600 bleed/min, although i personally wouldnt use it like that very much… My personal recommendation:
LFT1: Morion
LFT 2: Kris Blade+5
RT 1: ToB
RT 2: Makoto+5
clever rats does the same thing as friend/foes ring. so you dont ever need friends/foes ring
Except it doesn't. At all.
9/10 Friend's/Foe's is undisputably the better ring to use.

I have been building this build for a bit now and I finally have all the gear and almost the levels. Also! I have done a little research on the why's to this build and I have come to this conclusion. THIS BUILD IS AWESOME! No contest to this build the idea of using the pushed ToBs is awesome. I didn't know until I looked it up myself.
