Right hand: Sharp Estoc+5 Armor: Black leather, Rogues armor, Shaman armor, any armor that will allow you to roll around with 30 endurance, if you want you can equip ring of gs and wear heavy armor, but i prefer to have two rings and one of them not being ring of gs. If you want to go heavy you should be able to manage Fluted or even more. I don't know i haven't tested it. Gameplay tips and progression |
This build is really hard to use, it is definitely not the best, and i wouldn't recommend it to any first timers. In 1-1 all you need is the thief's ring and kill Ostrava for the M key. After beating the first level 1-1 you should go to 4-1 to get the crescent falchion, get the adjudicator's shield and the regenerators ring, along with the compound long bow. I would recommend beating the whole level, it really makes it easy if you have 1 or 2 blue phantoms with you. Now you should be able to go through 2-1 really easily, just bring a bow with 100-200 arrows for the boss, your crescent falchion will be more than enough to kill everything in the level. After 2-1 you should be ready for 3-1. 3-1 has all the items you will be using in this character(Well most of them) you will need pure white world tendency for the parrying dagger. So get your estoc and parrying dagger and black leather and you are set. Now you just need to farm some sharp stone!(A LOT OF IT) If it is too much trouble you can just do the whole mephistopheles thing, in other words get your character tendency to pure black and kill her. Also do not forget about 2-2 scirvir you will need pure black world tendency, then you will have to kill him for the ToB. To get the EW ring you will need to kill Doran, to do this the easy way just wear the thief's ring and use poison cloud and watch him die a pathetic death. PvP: This build takes a lot of PRACTICE. You need great timing on the parry with your dagger, but if you master it you will never get hit.You can always roll around and try for the backstab, but it can be hard to pull off on seasoned players. This build works great it tight corridors, but watch out for Spearmen with Shields, they are your DOOM! If you run into a spellcaster quickly take out your ds shield. If you are fighting out in the open against someone who is using NR or DBS you will most likely have to parry or dodge a lot, you can always go in for the back stab. If you get them into a corner even better, you can just keep poking them till they are dead. It is definitely a hard build to use but it is a lot of fun! I am not entirely sure what the Sl will be when all stats are reached but i think you will have some extra stats before sl 120. |
True Fencer
This is the first build i have ever posted, i assume that a lot of people will dislike it because it is really hard to use and only good for some situations, but i thought i should put it out there just for the hell of it because i saw a video of these two guys fighting with a rapier in their right hands and a dagger in their left hands and i thought why not do that in Demon's Souls. So there you have it. I hope you like it.
Thanks for this. I'm going to use this as my starting point for a "Gray Mouser" build based on the character by Fritz Leiber. That character had a bit of magic, but the real focus was on swordsmanship (using a rapier named "Scalpel" and a parrying dagger named "Cat's Claw"). A few of questions for you: doesn't Magic need to be 18 to use the ToB? Why didn't you go for Fatal weapons rather than Sharp, given their bonus for riposte damage? How did you decide on how to balance Vitality vs. Dexterity? And perhaps a dumb question: Do the low will and Magic affect spell damage? (Maybe not for the spells you mention.) Thanks! I'm enjoying parrying so far with the Mail Breaker found in 1-1.
