Gameplay tips and progression	Kill Ostrava and take his key Kill the phalanx Head over to 4-1 grab the Crescent Falcion and the extra Talisman Of God Beat 4-1 keep the Swollen soul (Ignore this step if your Male) Go to 1-1 go to where Executioner Miralda is block her attacks run down stairs start walking across a beam CAREFULLY! she will fall to her death safely walk back across if you die its ok just go back she will still be dead assuming she fell off RELOAD YOUR PROFILE go to where she spawns and theirs your Binded armor! Go beat 2-1 and 2-2 (Don't Die! your going to need the Pure white World tendency here) also grab the Club from where patches and the Filthy Man are alternatively you could buy one from the Dregling Merchant in 1-2 or 1-3 Once you have beaten Flame Lurker (Keeping his soul) dump your souls into strength so you have at least 30 before going for Dragon God Assuming you haven't died you should be a Pure White World Tendency instead of heading to your normal path grab the DB Smasher to the left Kill Dragon God start spending more souls on End and Vit since you already have 30 Strength Head over to 1-1 and kill Old King Doran with the DB Smasher just keep backstabbing him every time you do that his voice should reset when he says what a great knight you are wait and he should start repeating his first lines that's when you continue backstabbing him soon he will be dead take his armor and Demon Brand Go now and forge the Meat Cleaver from the club at 2-2 make sure you gave ED your Red Hot Demon's Soul this will make Man Eater easy just spam R1 and Man Eater CANT KNOCK YOU DOWN Next Tackle Latria Grab the Wooden Catalyst near the archstone (Make sure before completely finishing the boss off with your DB Smasher you grab the Baby's Nail behind the Altar) Beat 3-2 (Grab the Gold Mask) and head over to 3-3 kill the monk boss/Invader (Use the listed DB Smasher moves below) Head to good old ED in 2-1 have him forge you and Insanity Catalyst from your Wooden Catalyst from 3-1 Now head over to 4-1 again and head to the crow girl use your extra Talisman and Gold Mask (you could use the duping colorless souls method and get 5 souls) Go down to Ed DB Smasher to +5 Beat 4-2 get Second Chance from Saint Urbain Beat 1-2 and 1-3 get Light Weapon from Sage Freke Now you should have most if not all your equipment! Moves you will use a lot DB Smasher: The good old two handed run attack guaranteed to send your enemies flying Sprint R1 After you knock them back use your two handed R2 attack to finish them off while they get up if not already dead Meat Cleaver: R1 Spam the move set from this prevents you from staggering from being hit while attacking be weary about your stamina using this will COMPLETELY DRAIN YOUR STAMINA leaving you open for a Backstab this move works well against those lame guys in 5-1 and 5-2 you know the lame guys with fire sticks and those giant depraved ones The Infamous Roll Spam Simply Roll and press R1 Over and Over

The problem with using LW on the DBS is that it won't deal near as much damage as the boost from CW, the only exception being through warding. In my experience, the builds that use warding make themselves vulnerable by relying on that buff. Wait them out and backstab when they rebuff for the easy win. To make this build idea more feasible, lower STR to 26, up DEX to 39, lower VIT to 40. Use the MC because it already has magical damage on it, adding to that will make your damage rather significant. Note that you have the DEX to use any dex weapon as well for added versatility. Essentially, lw is designed for faster weapons/adding to a weapon's present magical damage because it increases by a set amount. It is especially lethal on daggers and fist weapons. Because cw adds 50% to physical damage, it is highly beneficial on weapons that deal 300+ physical damage.

If you're set on the DBS with LW, then at least drop Str to 36 and up Mag to 30 to make the most of your buffs and still have an effective DBS. But honestly, you're better off with a Meat Cleaver for a large LW-based weapon.
