Gameplay tips and progression |
Flame toss will likely be your bread and butter for awhile, and it will be pretty useful on Phalanx. Once you kill Phalanx go put all of your souls into leveling, 1 in Vitality and 1 in Endurance then the rest into Magic. Then go to 3-1 Tower of Latria and rescue Sage Freke, but also to collect a Silver Coronet, Silver Catalyst, Ring of Magical Sharpness and some Fresh spice. The Mind Flayers drop it rather often and this is a useful item since you're using magic. Return to the nexus and put some levels into Vitality and Endurance and then go add the second spell Soul Ray to your arsenal. You next stop is 3-2 or 4-1 Depending on if you'd rather pick the Fragrant Ring up or to trade with Sparkly the Crow for a Brass Telescope. If you choose 3-2 you will need to progress to the cage elevators and go down in the swamp place and pick it up, you can try to fight the Maneater but I would suggest heading to 4-1 now and getting yourself a crescent falchion. Once you have those items you are ready to Go fight the Armor Spider(2-1), and once he is dead make sure to get his spell, which should replace Flame Toss, and grab the Kris Blade while you're there. From here just make sure you level up Vitality and Endurance every 3 Magic levels or so, and around level 30 you may want to level up Intelligence so you can have a third spell, such as Warding so you'll also have to go fight the Tower Knight. Once you feel ready go fight the Old Monk and make Homing Soul Arrow(if you already have an Insanity Catalyst), then you'll be set to grind levels. Enjoy |
PvE Magician Level 120
I liked it but I would swap the left hand weapons with the right I actually have a guy really similar and he's on ng 7 without much trouble
No offense, but this build doesn't seem well thought out, at all. I'm a fan of skill over vit, but 30 is disgustingly low, even for a mage. And especially w/o Second Chance.
I have a build similar to this, but my build hardly falls back on attack where as you want to make it core. When it comes done to wanting to make melee and magic core parts of your style, you should make a full blown spellsword build because your mage simply can not outclass other mages. You said you'd opt for the silver coronet and the silver catalyst over the head wrappings and the kris blade. (Or at least that how your make more mp strategy would play out) That's unacceptable for a mage. I made 1 712 build and for a while, my 120 build out powered my build even though I had far superior magic and faith (I was using ToB), just because I didn't have the monks head wrappings. When you take off 2 boosts, the effect will be that you will be a very weak mage. If you're so worried about mp, you should think about a pushed ToB. If you wwant more power in your weapon, move from crescent weapons to moon weapons as they will almost always out power crescent weapons. Also, starting as a magician waste stats and royal already starts with the coronet.
Those are just some notes. This build doesn't have the best foundation and you might want to rework it. I like new ideas, but this isn't necessarily good IMHO. I'm sorry, it's a -1.
