Gameplay tips and progression |
The stats are the way they are because it is how I personally wanted to continue through the game. You can alter them in any way, just keep in mind the stats needed for the BBS and any weapon that you plan on using. Also, the reason Luck is where its at is because the BBS gets increased power from the Luck stat. There is really no noticeable change after 30, and completely stops after 60. Okay, time for a quick rundown of this build. First, if you want to get ahead in this game, then you should attempt to kill the Vanguard during the Tutorial. This will grant you roughly an extra 4500 souls for higher stat increases early on. After completing 1-1, you can either raise your stats or go directly to world 4-1. Make sure that you have at least 5 Turpentines, so that you can make quick work of the skeletons'. Once you reach the first fog gate, take a left and dodge/block the arrow trap on the ground. From here, take a left and head outside to where the dual katana Black Eyed Skeleton is waiting. As long as you have the Thief's Ring equipped. you can strafe behind him and get 1-2 back stabs in. Use Turpentine to make this fight go faster and collect your reward, the Crescent Falochin +1. This weapon is going to be your best friend for a while. Now you can either choose to finish the level, or go rescue Graverobber Blige and buy a Long Bow from him. I did the latter of the two, and left to go spend my souls on stats. It is good to get your magic and dexterity to 18 early on. Focus on these two because the Wanderer starts off with 9 Magic and 15 Dexterity. With the 18 Magic, your Crescent Falochin should be close to 200 power 1 handed. You can now breeze through the rest of 4-1 with the Crescent Falochin and you can use either a bow or melee to beat the Adjucator. Also in 4-1, make sure that you get both the Adjucator's Shield and the Regenerator's Ring. These will help a lot during the course of world 5. There are multiple ways you can approach world 5. You can use a combination of the Crescent Falochin and a bow, or with the Crescent Falochin and another Falochin of your choosing. I did the whole of world 5 without stopping, and my weapons were the Crescent Falochin, Kilij +4, Long Bow +3, and the Adjucator's Shield. It is good to have at least 1 weapon that does not have any magical qualities, for Garl Vinland has an extreme amount of magic defense. Make sure that in 5-2, you get the broken sword in the far left hand of the Poison Swamp.( Unless you already have one from a dregling in 1-1). After you are done with 5, you can then dominate 2-1 and 2-2 with your Crescent Falochin, get the Red Hot Demon's Soul, give it to Blacksmith Ed, and BAM; your done with the BBS. Everything else that you might want to use, you should consult this wiki on where its located and how to get it. Please comment on this Build. Also, special thanks to nick1nintendo, who gave me the idea for the BBS build. This is just my own special variation of it. |
Holy Blueblood Swordsman
This is basically what I did with my first character when I was new to Demon's Souls. You've made this build too all-round on the wrong areas. This isn't a "Faith - BBS build", this is a "can use every single weapon in the game, but can't use any of them effectively and die in two hits build". This might give you a chance at NG+ PvE, but at either NG++ or PvP, you're gonna suffer BAD! The low Vitality will get you down in one to three hits. That high Intellegence is pointless for BBS as it only needs light weapon. Endurance should be at least 35 or you won't be able to stun-lock kill anything. You only need 18 Strength and Dexterity for BBS. With that low Magic, you might as well go Curse Weapon. The Faith could have been a useful mix-up instead of magic, but there aren't any miracles that jibe with BBS, the main feat of the BBS is that you can enchant it. The Luck stops scaling significantly at 20 - 25. I'm sorry, in some games it pays off to distribute stats all-round, but Demon's souls ain't one of them. :( nice walkthrough though, but you might want to add what's the point with the stats distribution. So for future builds, I suggest you find one or two areas to focus on and go all out for it. ;)
Keep it up with the fresh thinking though. Just make sure it works out better next time ^_^

"The fastest way for stupid people to learn, is when they don't think about HOW it works,
they just accept that it does.
And since I'm NOT stupid, I'm a slow learner…"
-Vitality is too weak. Your build will be killed in one backstab…
-The weakness of a BBS build is that it only works with a BBS. You have to build it around the BBS and nothing else…
-You don't need to worry about magic defense because you can already deal ridiculous amounts of magic damage with Insanity Catalyst and Light Weapon. Increasing Faith only works for Faith builds.
Sorry for delayed response. Not sure if you still look at your build but just saw this;
I put a build out earlier today with following stats at the 125-130 Sl range
Starting class; Wanderer -version of blueblood not ujsing light weapon. While you can, does much less damage than cookie cutter build. Hoewver, Sticky White stuff, and black tur on blueblood….
Vit-45
Intel-14(all you need to use Silver coronet casting SC)
Endurance-35(can up it to 36 if you want. 35 is good enough for full combo's.)
Magic-18
Dex-18
Strength-18
Faith-40
Luck-30
With strong mag defense, and higher than usual HP compared to any other non-faith builds, 45 should be enough.
With 30 luck which should be the highest you should ever be with Luck, damage output of sword buffed with BT or SWS is great!
The speed varying R2, R1 combos and having a blessed weapon(good with knight's sword) you are looking at onemean mother fast machine!
Faith adds as well to the bluebloods physical damage output unbuffed, hence even with only 18 magic, this build is a tank in terms of offense, having variety of weapons to choose from in the blessed category) and various armor/rings.
You can cast God's wrath since you have four faith slots(SC, and God's wrath) using the talisman of god for extra damage.
Warding after SC breaks.
It's good to be original and unfortunate how people would give -1 to those who are not from the cookie cutter building school.
hence, +1 for me:)
I hope you haven't changed your opinion on this build of yours throughout the course of time. It would be ashame if you had a different mentality on the way a build that is not often seen.
Cheers,
