Gameplay tips and progression |
By getting the bare-bones stats for the Northern Regalia, you can then focus the rest of your Soul Levels into Vitality to make a power house that's difficult to take down. After entering "Hyper mode" with both Morion Blade and Clever Rat's Ring equipped, the devastating power of a fully-realized Northern Regalia is further amplified. Both Total Protection and Dull Rat's Ring are used to maintain this mode. Progression In order to make up for your character's lack of power before then, focus on forging a Moon Kilij/Uchigatana +4/+5 and a Dragon Mirdan Hammer +4/+5. Both of these will carry you through the game until you're finally able to forge the Northern Regalia. Alternatively, you can follow the steps below:

VIT North Regalia
Smart build. Since the Regalia doesn't scale with a damage stat, you have all those extra points…and with a Vitality-gouge like that a full combo from a cursed DBS would have a hard time finishing you off. It also allows you to use the most powerful boost in the game (Hyper Mode) and not really lose any health for it, since even halved you'd have about 40 Vitality's worth.
A few things, though…was the 13 Magic a typo? Also, why not take Strength to 20 just in case you feel like one-handed? And I would recommend Second Chance over Warding, especially with such high HP…compared to the general PvP build, it would be like you were revived with full health instead of only half.
Just my thoughts. Nice build ^_^ +1 from me.

Ask my anything. About Magic, that is.
If I remember right, Hyper Mode starts around 540-ish HP.
13 Magic is the starting stat for Royals.
That's a possible variation, but I wanted to a fully bare-bones take on the build, allowing me to save 7 Soul Levels for VIT.
Again, another viable option. I chose not to go with One-Time Revival (Second Chance) because when it activates, you lose Hyper Mode. Total Protection and Dull Rat's Ring will prolong the time you get to spend in Hyper mode.
Guys wich armor set would you advice for a build like this p.p?
I'm getting ready to make this build with some slight adjustments, but the armor set I am going for is Gloom minus the chest piece to keep the roll ability (or you can wear ring of great strength and wear the full set)
Here is what I am going for:
North Regalia
Lava Bow
Dark Silver Shield
Gloom Armor
Second Chance
Poison Cloud
What would the SL on this be?
maybe you can add how someone can obtain it through duping
I'm firmly against the concept of duping. So, no.
beat wannabe allant, get sword, then load your profile. it takes u 2 nexus, go make north regina then beat game. now you got north regina without cheating on 1st play through :)
lol regina.
Makes sense…
…if you don’t think about it

Or walk back to the archstone on top of the hill, that'll take you back to the nexus to.
Decided to shave another Soul Level off of Magic by starting as a Knight. As it so happens, the minimalist North Regalia build can only be achieved with the Knight origin.
When I did my my own northern regalia build after playing for few weeks, I noticed that I really needed the 20 str8, because when I casted 2nd chance I sometimes forgot to two-hand the weapon, didn't really matter 100/50 damage less. But it's usfull to kill old king doran to get the enternal warriors ring, placed on the dull rats ring's slot
This is an awesome build. I tried it a few days ago and so far I liked it. Even without hyper mode, I'm still dishing out quite a damage, something like 400ish per swing against players I've faced around SL 100. Plus, the huge chunk of hp makes it harder for others to kill me (unless they were in hyper mode).
The only thing that I dislike is the fact Northern Regalia have to stay either PWCT or PBCT for the full attack power of 540. In my case, I've been pvping exclusively in body form or as a blue phantom since my CT is PW.
BTW, I'm still uncertain if I could do without second chance, I mean do regularly face against faith and magic builds who used magical weapons, which warding won't be useful against them. I was considering taking 4 vitality off to make up the 16 faith.
Added links to your build. Very nice build, by the way.
Dragon weapons would benefit from this build.
Riveting tale, chap
wow, definitely trying this build out
great addition!
Brilliant build. Bravo!!
Nice build, im planning to make a vit build like this xD
im just wondering, if i plan to play through the game in soul form, shall i use dull rats ring, or cling ring.
In human form, dull rats ring + warding will give you superdefence, and morion and crr superb defence. But with cling ring you wont need to lower your hp that much….so is more hp and not super defence best, or not that much hp, but super defence?
Thanks alot xD
