Gameplay tips and progression |
Now, I know what your thinking. "With such low luck, how will I get Pure Bladestone!?" But isn't a good idea to have a good ol' Blind +5 with ya? Yes, Dual katanas (even with the cheap katana push) may not always be effective of Heavy shields, especially Scraping Spear users. So Blind is perfect for penetrating their shields, such as the Tower Shield. Now another thing i'd imagine that you'd be thinking. "How will I get past a Scraping Spear with Blind without getting it broken after Two Hits!?" Good question. The answer is to use Ed's Grindstone, but do try to dodge the Spear. If you're good with Dual katanas, this build should be very effective for PvP. It was for me! Thank you very much everyone and please comment as much as you like. Thanks |

This build will not work well for PvP. You need at least 45-50 Vitality for a melee build, otherwise you will get OHKO'd from backstabs and large weapons.
Yes, I can underatand where you going with that. You do need some skill to use it, however, 2nd Chance does help.
This was the best build possible, I've tested it, and it's done better than my previous Katana Builds. Thank you for showing a few flaws though.
So i am in the progress of making one of these.
Just some things that makes me a bit confused. Whats up with the high magic? wouldnt it be better to go with a cracked ToB for 1hp/s instead of 1%/s on cursed weap.
Plus the extra points could go into vit/endur.
I like the creativity you put into this build, and for PVe with only 30 vit, it wouldn't be a problem to use.
PVP wise? 30 vit, regardless if all your other stats are high, will get you killed even using second chance, from a cursed weapon in three or less hits.
A fatal backstb will kill you most likely in one shot, breaking second chance with a sliver if anything of HP left.
Blind is a shitty weapon regardless if it can bypass any shield.
The LSOM is a much better weapn to use against any shield, as it bypasses and does damage. Only weapon I recommend using to bypass at least 50% of shield is sharp shotel with that katana. Forget blind. A cursed sharp shotel with 50% CAN KILL. I've used it and it will kill those turtles out there.
Your magic is way too low. Using only 24 in magic will do absolutely nothing damage wise even on opponents with zero magic defense. Again, creative, but unfortunately, you need at least 50 magic to even consider using crescent over moon upgrades effectively.
PVE wise, any build as long as you are good, and have fun can be effective.
Sorry, I don't and will not rate builds negative, as I am not a believer to bring down someone's hard work they put into writing up a build on here.
What I am offering is constructive criticism. I know that it may seem abit rude, but I am honestly trying to offer advice. Take dex lower, raise magic to at least 40. You can use fatal weapons with low dex since the backstab is not based on dex stat. The bonus actually is dependent on it! Anyone can do damage using fatal, regardless of what build they are.
However, for the sake of this build, if you are using pure melee, I recommend makin gmagic higher ,to use moon weapons, and take dex to 35. With cursed buff, 35 dex using sharp katanas are strong and can kill! Trust me. While 50 is always good to have in a given stat, sharp weapns are fast, can get multiple hits in especially with good endurance, and buffed up wtih curse, a nice sharp kilij with 35 dex can kill in three, four even less hits.
You have to take into account the low vitality. I would honestly never go below 45 minimum! If you have been successful in PVP with this build, you must be a great player:)
One more thing. Luck has nothing to do with attaining a pure bladestone. In fact, the higher the luck, the more "quantity of an item" versus chances of getting a rare one.
Trust me. Blueblood swords that have high luck will have a harder time getting a prue blade, since they will be getting tons of shards, and chunks of bladestones.
Not sure if you know, but in 4-3, there is a chance to get the pure from the first red skeleton right after the tunnel 1/200 chances.
You will definitely get a pure anywhere in between. I've done it in five minutes. There have been times I've taken literally all night, starting at 10p,m. until 6:30 a.m. the next day!
Because of this duped method taking place these days, not only has the game lost it's competitive and risk based reward system, but alot of new players that would have to challenge themselves and actually gain skill in this game, lose out from asking others to dupe them items.
Hey, I am not saying that's wrong. In life, most probably would take the easy road, if given the chance:)
BTW-Anyone ever use LOL, Ronans ring? I think if you equip it against acid or scraping spear users it makes your armor and weapons less fragile from breaking.
Curious if anyone tested??
