Blessed Minister
This looks like a great build with awesome analysis/explanation. It combines my two favorite builds to pvp with too! Definitely a +1 from me.
Hmmmm I like this… & it's not just because you slaughter my penetrator builds without rubbing it in my face.. I might get a quick soul suck @ alter my faith whoore. I do love c-axe but I'll stick with my Bless GS. +1 for detail & versatility. a few questions:
"- 95% of the 2H damage (not AR, actual damage) of a pure Faith build wielding Blessed
Gaxe 5 (test comparison: 18 Str, 50 Fth)
- 94% of the 2H damage of a Pure Strength Crushing Caxe 5 (Comparison: 50 Str)"
are you sure these are accurate? I would have expected a greater drop from 50 to34 str (*down to 51 from 75 while 2Hing*) I understand it should be small but <10% seems absurd! The faith makes sense 40-50 has such a tiny difference that I chose to go 26str & 1h my GS/GA for the Roll+r1 aoe….
Yep, the numbers really are that good! I tested with multiple weapons against multiple targets. The developers gave even less of a gouging bonus to str than other damage stats (undoubtedly *because* of the 2H multiplier.)
I've had good experiences with Blessed Gsword on the build… you'll have fun with it! Thanks for the +1.
This is the first build I've enjoyed hosting with.
I'm a midlevel player, with a few, but not many, tricks up my sleeve…
This build is resilient enough to give me the time to try to read someone else's patterns.
Excellent description as well. One of the best hybrid builds I've seen so far! Being able to consolidate a CW strength build and a faith build into 1 is well worth the slightly lesser damage. I usually run with 40 faith anyway, so it's all a bonus to me.
yes, indeed great build.
Why is it, withouit at all trying to be condescending, and I mean it, that no one ever use dor thought that this build has been?
I've had crushing/Faith, Dex/Faith, hybrids every since playing DS.
I'm not saying this againi in any crude way.
You are an experienced player, you come up with great builds.
But the fact that someone is now mentioning this waayyy after the game has already been out, and to the surprise of many, this build is has never crossed their mind, astonishes me.
Dex/Faith and this are the top tier builds. Why? The faith regen, plus magic defense means less vit needed. Curse or other buffed weapnos in cobmo with blessed as you mentioned is no problem detroying most warding spammers.
The backstabs of blessed knights sword, is great, crushing weapons(any two handed with purple goo such as with the crushing Mace! can crush shields!)
I feel badly, as I don't want to seem demeaning.
I love DS, and I love some of the posts yo9u and many others discuss on the forums. Even though I'm not a member, they are still insightful and when I started DS,PVP I learned a great deal.
This combinatino is good, but it makes me thing that while all these players are great at DS PVP, they never thought about utilizing strength with faith, especially since there is a faith build using 26 strength for Great Axe, hence someone didn't try using crushing??
Dex/Faith combos have been around for a while, but haven't gotten very popular because most folks try to stay around 120-125. At this level, the stats tend to spread very thin. Typ's (http://demonssouls.wikidot.com/character-builds:264) sacrifices curse, quite a bit of vit (with the questionable suggestion of casting warding multiple times after sc… -_-), and a little endurance. Jumi's (http://forums.demonssouls.info/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6971) sacrifices quite a bit of endurance, 2kat, and GSword/GAxe.
As they stand, both builds are good, if you can work within some significant limits. At ~140, these builds would be terrifying.
By comparison, the sl125 blessed minister hybrid sacrifices virtually nothing. This is partially due to the low dex req's of the top str weps (nets you 4 sl's, as compared to the middling str reqs of kats and blessed great weps) and the 2H bonus (nets you 6 to 17 levels, depending on how you calculate).
As to why this hybrid isn't already a fixture, I'd guess it's just that 34 on a damage stat just doesn't look right at the 120ish pvp range. It honestly took a lot of testing before I was convinced! And if you go higher, you start making sacrifices… do you take from endurance? Don't forget that these weps are heavy and stam-hogs. Do you take from vit and risk more ohko backstabs? Do you dump curse?
Fortunately, a little testing shows that 34 strength is plenty, not just for DBS, but even for your run-of-the-mill cursed crushing weps.
Thanks for the good words.
Well,
+1 for me. If I could give +2, I would. One, for knowing your SH_T!:) Two, good looking build.
You're right about 120 with hybrids.
You're right about strength. A 125 DBS/Magician usinjg Fireballs is about the most irritating build out there. All because of a move that can immediately splash fireballs within less than half sec.
They are terrifiying at 140, hehe. Dex/Faith I've got at that levelit's the one I used way back that I've never deleted.
Blessed Great Axe/fatal Estoc or SWS combo. Wheeww.
You're right about the 34 strength. Nowadays you've got every kind of flavor of it. The amount of various DBS builds you can use is about the same types of shrimp Good old Bubba form Forrerst Gump can name. You've DBS vit gouge, DBS fireball, DBS fireball/soul ray, DBS/Firestorm, DBS/Faith, DBS/Troolllaaa laaa laaaa.
Surgeon General's Warning: All DBS Mag users please refrain from using splash fire instant spell glitch casting. Gllitch because it's extremley hazardous to the games health especially since it is a similar style moveset you would use setting up the RFS(without ofcourse the necessary two spells:)
Sounds extremely versatile, I'll have to try this when I get home and Soulsuck my lousy pure Faith Build. :p I like how you dealt with DR and didn't just dump into one stat like most other builds. I believe without a doubt that those statistics are right: 100% of 34 Str is equal to 94% of 50 Str as the same with Faith. +1
I am a new player, just bought a PS3 and this is my first game. I have been trying to decide where to take my faith build (my first character). Right now I am mostly using a cookie-cutter Faith build, but I really want to go with the Executioner/Axe theme, and your build is almost exactly what I was considering. I really wanted to be able to use a larger shield in PVE, now I know how I can make it fit! Thanks for all of the math and detailed explanation, I can't wait to try it. Where do I farm all of the Faintstones I need, I have been struggling so far (@ SL 85 now, just started my 2nd play through).
I am highly attached to my Lava Bow also, but I can't afford the 16 DEX that it requires. What bow do you use? Why 18 INT, isnt 15 enough for SC, leaving 3 of the 4 points I need to keep my bow? If I do this, should I take 1 point from Faith or Strength?
Glad you like the build! I think you'll have fun with it.

Farming Greystone: http://demonssouls.wikidot.com/upgrade-crushing
Notes on farming Lizards and stones: http://demonssouls.wikidot.com/farming
Most important: Get black world tendency for farming, and carry a Large Sword of Searching in left hand or on your back.
To your second question, you need 18 int for Curse. Sub in the Compound Long Bow +10 for the Lava. You can always use fire arrows in it, if you're attached to the fire damage.
Thanks for the +1! Feel free to hit me up with any other questions.
Great build,
Hey Dismal, here you've been giving -1 ratings to non-forum members.
LOL, if you gave this person a +1, guess they must be someone you know.
Stop trolling the boards, act like an honorable person, not a troll.
Nice build btw:)
