Gameplay tips and progression |
Use your DBS in 1handed mode (the key move here is the roll sweep) feel free to throw in some decoy 1hand R1 chops to lure them in and imediatly roll sweep as they approach (this is much easier if playing without lock on) ofcourse feel free to mix it up and use the 2handed sprint attack or pivot chop if your bluffs are being called) play with the dbs in 1hand as if your using a great axe 2handed, here comes the secret weapon of this setup, once hyper mode is active (usually after trading blows a few times but with the roll sweep youl have time to switch since you knock them half way around the world with it) pull out your crescent axe in 2hand form. The ground Pound is your key to victory here. Althought the great axe does more damage once your in hyper mode you will almost always 1hit them with a ground pound anyway or break second chance especially if youve landed even just 1 roll sweep with the dbs, once hypermode is on and the crescent is equipped it no longer matters if it comes down to trading blows or not because this moveset cannot be interupted and most oponents will see that you are near death (or second chance breaking) and will try to finish you off) this is when you start roll pounding as much as possible again try to do this without lock on so you can roll past them and pivot pound in there general direction. Even though the crescent axe does about 40-50 less dmg than the great axe it will still severly wound anyone in any armor set including massive vita NR builds. If 1 pound doesnt finish them off a second pound will, rinse and repeat. The dbs is good against most weapons but it can be interupted (although the roll sweep 1H seems to connect regardless 90% of the time) if you run into stunlockers such as blueblood sword users and guilotine axe users you may want to just use the crescent axe off the bat with cursed weapons instead again taking full advantage of your uninteruptability. This style of dueling is very easy to get used to since most of the time your only using 2-3 different attacks, it mainly comes down to timing and sometimes as mentioned aiming to trade blows rather than avoid damage (be a man) once you get the hang of it and learn which attacks best fit the job you will be slaying your enemies in 3-5 hits including second chance and there primary life bar. This is my first time posting a build with tactics so dont be too harsh on me if anyone has any suggestions please comment, Hope you all enjoy using this setup as much as i do. |
