RH1: Bramd +5 LH1: Dark Silver Shield +5 Technically Garl carries his Talisman in RH2, so that is also an option if you have something else to carry in your left hand. Full Dark Silver armor Ring of Great Strength DS Set+Bramd+Talisman= 76.3 lbs |

Miracles: Spells: "I can hear you already - "Wait..spells? On a Faith Build!?" Well, the trick to this is to get the minimum 10 Magic required for getting these spells from Sage Freke, and then getting Soulsucked or deleveling yourself until Magic returns to the base value of 6." -Warding (Excellent alternative to SC, low MP cost and instant casting. If your SC gets cracked, you are going to want and need this to survive.) My own suggestion to build on his would be: |
Gameplay tips and progression |
First off, this build has 6 extra points to play with to reach 250. Here are my recommendations on what to do with those: Endurance: If you like to carry a heavy secondary weapon (Great Sword, Claymore), this is an obvious choice. Will add progression tips if requested, though starting off as a temple knight is usually very easy. Prior to gaining enough endurance to use the full setup, Dark Silver armor along with a blessed Claymore or other weapon of choice will work wonders (even at 16 faith), and require sigificantly less endurance to roll. |
244+ Garl Vinland
These are the stats that I came up with for lower SL usage:
SL: 200 (Faith is a good stat to sacrifice if you want to raise VIT or STR, don't go under 16 though)
Vitality: 81
Intelligence: 18
Endurance: 80
Strength: 40
Dexterity: 12
Magic: 6
Faith: 36
Luck: 7
SL: 127
Vitality: 54
Intelligence: 8
Endurance: 80
Strength: 24 (minimum for two-handing Bramd, drop VIT if you want to go for 36 to use 1-handed)
Dexterity: 12
Magic: 6
Faith: 16
Luck: 7
I roll fast with end 74 + ring of great str

Really? What all equipment were you wearing, and what was the total weight and max equip burden? Guess I was off in my END calculation, I'll check it out in-game as soon as I can.
i don't remember, i don't have garl vinland anymore =( but i'm sure it's 74 end + great str, sorry about my english

Tried it myself, 73 is the bare minimum to carry Bramd+Dark Silver+Talisman. The wiki only lists stats for 70 and 80 though, so that's why I listed 80.
To use any secondary weapons though, gotta have more than 73.
Been using this at 127, and it really is pretty awful at that level (at least for invading). I'm stretching for VIT, had to boost int a bit to cast SC (which requires both silver cat and circlet). Damage output isn't terrible though with 36 STR, and there's still room for turpentine/sticky white stuff.
SL: 130
Vitality: 45
Intelligence: 15
Endurance: 73
Strength: 36
Dexterity: 12
Magic: 6
Faith: 16
Luck: 7
I use this for relatively good results in PvP.
for a Garl build you need ATLEAST 55 faith
Why? I have explained why each stat my build uses is the way it is, Faith is not a requirement for this build, only a bonus.
I have yet to lose in physical form with the lower SL builds listed above (I use a mix of my 127 and the 130 posted by ggoom above, able to cast SC using silver cat and circlet). I only use Dark Silver and Bramd, otherwise, what's the point of calling it Garl? Oh, and I can roll (important, considering the Roll Attack), which often catches invaders off guard.
The finishing blow is often a regular 2H R1 combo thanks to hyper armor.
