Gameplay tips and progression |
I like this build because it's proven very versatile to me in many situations. It is build around mainly around the Moon Great Sword +5 and Firestorm. This is a very powerful combo and if done correctly can end the match very quickly (though Firestorm is rather treacherous). Just keep your distance and use the GS's lenght to your advantage, when you connect, your enemy will fly to the floor and you just run to him and cast Firestorm. I try not to use a second weapon/shield in my left hand slot, because when you connect with the GS you don't have much time before your enemy gets up. I really like the spike in damage that the RoMS/FR combo gives you, and the MHW is really awesome (except for some visibility issues). If you want a faster character, you can also use the katana or "doble katana" stance, both being very powerful with your magic stat so high. Use second chance as soon as you invade (if you can obviously), Soul Ray is for Poison/Plague casters and I like Ignite because of it's damage, quickness and the surprise effect for your opponent. The biggest strategy here is to use your length's advantage and try to keep you enemy at distance. Just wait for that chance to connect with your sword and cast a very powerful Firestorm. I know the intelligence stat is a bit high but with Second Chance and Firestorm you really run out of magic fast, and if you miss one or Firestorm, you'll need the extra 100 MP. Also there is a bit left for some Soul Ray. So what do you think of my build. Good, bad, interesting, makes you vomit, what would you equipment would you use, what technique would you change? I'm really open for suggestions/critics. |
High Level Mage Invader
It's Soul Level is around 190-195 because you want to invade the SL 200 players

Good build overall. One thing you should do is take Intelligence down to 40 and put the extra points into Vitality. Damage will be hell up there, so you'll need the extra health. And Intelligence grants almost no MP when leveled up after 40.

Ask my anything. About Magic, that is.
Followed your advice. I took down intelligence to 45 (i got bored of throwing away fights using red eye stones). I just don't use Second Chance anymore (just not that often). I found a very quick strategy with this build using Ignite, but you have to know your opponent and his weapons. I'm having a lot of fun with this build and lately the SL 200 category has been very active. thanks Nick1Nintendo

No Second Chance? Ouch. How come? 50% more health never hurts.
Glad it's working for you. And yeah, hopefully I can get up to 200 soon.

Hey guys. Any answers would be appreciated
I was wondering how much the Dark Silver shield affects the moon sword damage. If the shield decreases the magic damage, wouldn't the damage from the 'moon' modification be negated?
Dark silver shield raises magical DEFENSE not attack. The whole point of the dark silver armor set (including shield) is that it is anti magic build. If you equip the dark silver shield you are only screwing yourself over. Magic isnt hard to dodge, especially if you can roll quickly. A mage vs mage battle if that happens to you is best solved with a few good wacks of your melee weapon and tossing your spells out the window for the moment.
Why use Black leather armour? The Venerable Sages robes would work a lot better.
