Well, I have been working on this for quite a while now, and between real life and work it did not progress as fast as I had hoped.

As many of you are aware the forums here on Wikidot leave a lot to be … desired. Wikidot will be the first one to tell you that they are not designed, nor intended, to host forums. So, I have opened a new location where we can have a fully featured (and for most of you familiar) messaging board. Registration is quick and painless.

The moderators of the forums and I have been testing things out and tweaking issues that we find. However, we are sure there will be some things we have missed. Please let us know of any issues you encounter, and we will address them as soon as possible.

Make sure you read the rules from the start, because you will be held accountable for your actions. Ignorance is no excuse. The rules are posted at the top of every single forum.

Hey I was just wondering…
I was doing a little pvp a few knights ago and invaded sumbodys world. As far as I could see, he was wearing the shaman's armor, DSS, and had sumtype of dagger equiped.
I was using a Blessed mirdian hammer +5 with 50 faith. the dual was pretty slugish…back and forth. So instead of keeping him targeted i deceded to untarget and try to sprint behind
him to get sum backstabs in. Well, needless to say it worked…and I proceeded to get 3 more backstabs on him back to back to back to back, Yet he took no damage and remained at
what looked like 50% life the whole time. He eventually got away and backstabbed me which oneshot me.
I sent him a msg question why he took no dmg whatsoever from the backstabs but his response was " happens all the time, get used to it LOL"
so anyone have any ideas what happend.

Hi guys,

yesterday I invaded someone in in 1-4, and he had a fight strategy which I never seen before in PvP.
Maybe you can help me with some hints.

Ok, first of all, I'm SL53 and was equipped with Dragon Mirdan Hammer+5 and Nothern Regalia in pure black soul tendency (Eternal Warrior ring was equiped, too).

The other player used sometimes two shields or one shield doublehanded as I guess.
Right hand was a purple flame shield (maybe a +10) and the other was a smaller one (I don't know which it was, maybe a kite or something else).
All the time he was blocking and I was not able to break his guard, not with Mirdan Hammer, nor with double handed Nothern Regalia.

Additional to that, he had a Blue Phantom in the game.
The double shielded host blocks the small stairway in the first tower with his shield strategy and the blue phantom tried to hurt me with a bow from above.
After a few tries on the host I managed it to dodge past him and rush to the Blue Phantom, which takes a downfall to the bottom to eskape me.
Nah, let make it me short:

I lost the fight at the end against this two, but the main question is:
How could I manage it to break the doubleshield of the host? On my soullevel I haven't 160 stamina (I know, the host hasn't it, too).
Additional I tried a double handed Moon Knight Sword+5 to bring his gurard down, but this also fails.

So I have no idea what to do (exept to manage a lucky backstab).
Maybe someone of you can help me out of this question :-)

So yesterday/today I made a new character, a mage character, which some people still don't understand, uses magic. It not only uses magic but it relies on magic. Firestorm is a magic attack, so I tend to use it cause it is a very strong one. If I am in a PvP duel, I will try to kill my opponent, sometimes by using Firestorm. Sometimes just 1 Firestorm doesn't kill my opponent so I use another one.

Magic is very slow and easy to dodge and my opponent would also like to kill me. I often use the assistance of a Great Sword because it can buy me sometime until I can cast my magic attacks, like Firestorm. Sometimes I win using this technique and it makes my opponent really mad for some reason resulting in them writing very angry/frustrated messages.

I just want to ask you, my beloved wiki forum. Is what I am doing wrong? Should I cease to rely on this practice? Why does it infuriate people so much? Are there not ways to counter this attacks? Are there not even more dangerous combos out there?

Hi everybody,

is there anybody who knows how the so called push lock escape works?
It seems it is known to some peolpe but for reasons unknown to me, they dont share their knowledge.
It was said something about further testing but I dont see the point in it.

If you know it, tell us!
I dont want to know how to make a running firestorm but a possibility to counter a till now broken tactic.
Otherwise I dont see the point in a community at all, so jump off your elitist horse.

I am on NG and I have everything but 5.3 beat. Can I invade people who are going through NG+ or only players still on NG?

Is it frowned upon in NG++ and so on to still use black eye stones? I don't have anything to gain really from getting other people's souls as I'm maxed out build and item-wise at this point, and I REALLY do not want to have to re-level. Do all the best players do one or the other though?

So those of you who have played with/against me know i pretty much suck. Sure i get lucky sometimes, but for the most part I spend most of my PVP losing as a black phantom.

A week or so ago I invaded some guy with his smurf buddy and they try to jack me as I spawn, but i managed to kill them both(dotn ask me how, remember I suck).

Tonight I invaded this same guy. he was hiding around behind the first archway with his DBS. I pull out the flamberge(sharp +3 woohoo, and i suck more than usual with it), do a rolling attack as I bounce through the arch and catch him. he tries to firestorm which I evade then he takes off back toward the archstone. I chase him down catch him with push, slam him a couple times and he cable yanks.

i invaded the same guy a few minutes later but this time hes out front preping as if to duel, except he sees me, then cable yanks, BEFORE i even started buffing.

I msg'd him "really?" and he send back "U bet".

I really wanted to send something back to him, but I just couldnt stop laughing. I suck and i know it, but this guy is scared to face even me!

nothing out of bounds and no complaining:
-yes Scraping Spear
-yes Acid Cloud
-yes Stun Lock
-YES TO EVERYTHING
no stupid grass limits
only limit is glitches, NO GLITCHES
you complain you are out
don;t like the idea or think it is stupid, keep it to yourself, because i don't want to deal with all of that crap
like the idea want to see it happen, i will be taking a count and if i can get at least 16 willing players, i (and hopefully someone else) will see what can be done

and for the record, I DON'T CARE IF YOU GET BACK STABBED FROM 100 FEET AWAY, ITS CALLED LAG AND I HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT ALL THE TIME

edit: there will be 2 restrictions out of the reasoning of PvP:
no banish (defeats the point)
no AMF (no lagging out)

I was just pvping a guy that invaded me when playing old monk, as for lols i msgd him I KILL YOU before the fight, and he's like OH i have a character at SL 423. er….So wut?
I run in with second chance and a Cresent falchion +5, My character is a Dex build, I forgot my fatal estoc +1, Magic at 10, the guy firestorms me, and uses a meat cleaver, what do i do? i rush him, i stab him, he hits me i heal, he heals, and i pwn him, back stabbing him like 10 times, and cause i found out he has like 0 endurance, so i spam attacks and he dies, and then he's like your a pu$$y, i'm like how? explain, he's responds you used 20 healing grasses. LOL 4 grasses some how equals 20. i even let this guy even use firestorm twice on me and i let him heal after he had like 30% hp left.

Having high Equip Burden will slow your stamina recovery?

Near death escapes, crazy magic fights, fast assaults, crazy long battles, PLEASE PLEASE Explain in detail.
Also, would just like to know as an add-on to your post, have you ever fought me? Have I ever helped u as a Blue Phantom?
If so, how did I do. I know I have gotten into 30 minute fights, and than I gotten mowed down in 5 seconds.

Freakin' Backstabs

So, I know how to perform a pivot backstabs. I also know how to prevent one from being done to me.

At least, in theory. In practice, I generally have to rely on my Claymore to punish backstab attempts. And sometimes that doesn't work. It's also a shame, because I can't throw out my 1300+ damage backstabs without somebody deciding it would be a great idea to munch on some grass two feet infront of me.

Every time I go up against a less-than-threatening opponent, I try to practice this. I've gotten it off probably about five times. Out of hundreds of attempts. I've performed a counter backstab twice. Out of dozens of attempts. The unsuccesful attempts were, of course, a painful experience.

Now, I understand that I'm not going to be a master of this right away. The people who I see avoiding my claymore without even dodge rolling and hitting me with a backstab— I know those guys have been doing it for a while, and they're probably pretty good. However, given that I've put a lot of effort into this, and I'm making no progress at all, I feel like I'm probably screwing something up on a really basic level. So if anybody's got some tips and, could point out some unintuitive elements to the process, or anything else they feel could improve my ability to perform this manuever, it'd be really awesome if you chould share it with me here.

After further consideration, this should probably be moved to the Q&A section.

I know, this is just like the PvP section, but it'd be a lot easier if we had a system for issuing challenges.
