New Forums Are Open

Old forums will remain online and you may post (but not create new threads) until Monday, May 24th at 5:00PM EDT. After the old forums will be set to archive mode and you can no longer post.

Well, I have been working on this for quite a while now, and between real life and work it did not progress as fast as I had hoped.

As many of you are aware the forums here on Wikidot leave a lot to be … desired. Wikidot will be the first one to tell you that they are not designed, nor intended, to host forums. So, I have opened a new location where we can have a fully featured (and for most of you familiar) messaging board. Registration is quick and painless.

The moderators of the forums and I have been testing things out and tweaking issues that we find. However, we are sure there will be some things we have missed. Please let us know of any issues you encounter, and we will address them as soon as possible.

Make sure you read the rules from the start, because you will be held accountable for your actions. Ignorance is no excuse. The rules are posted at the top of every single forum.

Thanks, and enjoy.

http://forums.demonssouls.info

I've also posted this on the Playstation Network:

Just curious if anyone has gotten two seemingly inaccessible treasures.

One I noticed is behind the second Reaper, in the area where the first "invisible" female Shadowlurker spawns. I usually kill him with an R2 thrust and he falls down the gap behind him. Once I looked down and there seems to be an alcove with a body and treasure. I have fallen there once and sailed past the alcove, so I haven't tried since then.

The second is in 4-3 on the cliffside on your right as you head down to the Archstone. Boulders block your access to the cliff, and I haven't found a path up yet.

The first time I went through 4-1, I didn't bother to kill Vanguard yet. I am 100% sure I have never beaten him before in my own game, but I did kill him quite often as a Blue Phantom.

I went back to 4-1 to beat the crap out of him for him beating the crap out of me in the tutorial, but he's randomly gone. You might say "Vanguard is really not that important or worth it", but I'm so anal I need to kill him for my own feeling of completeness for my first playthrough. Plus he drops the Grey DS which I need for a Dozer Axe apparently.

Anyone had this before? AFAIK Vanguard has nothing to do with Tendency nor does he disappear after you beat the archdemon.

I know it, you know it, everyone knows it:
THE SHRINE OF STORMS IS BLACK PHANTOM TERRITORY

For a stunning lack of regular black phantoms (only one i can think of is Satsuki's dad), you see more here than anywhere
Some do appear in PBWT, but you get invaded all the time
I enter, and before i step 5 feet from the archstone i get invaded back stabbed, the fire stormed

Away around this is avoiding this place at PvP SL (120)
Post any other useful advice against black phantoms in this thread

This is ridiculous. I have tried Spear and Sheid. Ive tried matako and shield and clever rats ring. Ive tried Matako and shied and clever rats ring, switching to a +8 claws when my health activates the ring.

So far I can NOT stop him from healing. the animation for putting the grass in his mouth seems to be lightning quick, far quicker than mine when I do it. I can melee the guy forever, but cant stop him from healing.

Any ideas? Ive tossed poison cloud into the mix, to no avail. What is he weak to? Magic? Fire? Plague?

I personally believe level 4 and all it includes is the coolest level in the game, with Boletarian palace running a distant, distant second.

Excellent atmospherics and wicked awesome enemies;

Fast and crazy silver skeleton knights! Bada@@ fire-eyed dual katana wielding black skeletons! Incredibly strong gold skeletons with giant swords! Storm-spire-shooting flying stingrays of doom! Underground passages and perilous mountain patheways to explore! A crazy hawk lady to trade with! Some of the best items in the game to be found! The place to FINALLY unleash all that pent up early game frustration upon the now pathetic Vangaurd! Three of the best soul farming spots in the game! A magic stone forest where the power to rend the sky with a sword can once again be reclaimed! Adjudicator, the strangest boss in the game! Black phantom master satsuki, by far the hardest black phantom in the game, IM0!

I enjoy playing this level again and again as I experiment with different weapon / armour spell combos.

How do you guys feel?

With a quite useful Stormruler, you may think its lame (probably not). If you don't already know this, pay attention. Grab a Stormruler, (the sword, the one that looks like a unicorn's horn) and go to Storm King Archstone. Soon as you enter the stage, turn around and run straight forward. Take a right. And go inside the smashed building. Once inside, go to the RIGHT corner, not the left. Stand in the corner and two-hand Stormruler. Lock on, and your tornado thingy that spins should murder the flying manta thingies. Have fun with your unlimited souls :D

Normally up to 18,000+ souls per visit to the fabulous shrines with a Ring of Avarice :P

WARNING: Side effects may include: SL712idus, explosive fart, and obsession with fish (especially flying fish).

I discovered this by accident while backtracking through the level and noticing that you can see this third area from the second. I've always hated the third reaper. He has a guard right in front and you have to turn quickly and accurately to target him instead of the guard.
There is a sniper's perch about two stairs up from the platform where the second reaper hides behind the wall. Once you've taken him down, wait for the female ninja shadowlurker and take her out. Keep you shield up and your eyes open and she won't hurt you. If you then go back to the stairs you can see the reaper and his shadowlurker guard by looking perpendicular to the stairs and down a bit. The shot will be blocked by stalagmites, however.
Here's the trick: go through the next fog gate back onto the cliffside (down the stairs and around from the ninja shadowlurker) and then come back. The stalagmites will be gone and you will have a clear shot at the reaper. He will wander about about when you hit him but he'll fall as easily as the first one otherwise. Beats risking all your souls on your melee timing…

YOU BET THERE IS! Come to Shrine of Storms, where you will see winding cliffside paths, beautiful beaches, ancient ruins, and HOLY MOTHER OF GOD ARE THOSE ROLLING SKELETON SAMURAI ROBOTS? Look! That one has two swords! Goodness, that one is made of gold! I believe we interrupted their game of beach volleyball and they're dreadfully angry with us. What's this? This one has handed me a note:

"While you were reading this, me and three of my buddies all killed you simultaneously."

Anyway, Shrine of Storms, BKA "Jerkface Island," is both an awesome place to be and a miserable, spirit-crushing endeavor. The bright side: lots of baddies to kill that yield respectable amounts of souls. The not-so-bright side: said baddies are ROLLING SKELETON SAMURAI ROBOTS OF DOOM. Seriously, let your guard down for a single moment and your body will suddenly attain a 300% increase in surface area. Some helpful hints:

Yeah, eventually you could run all willy-nilly through Boletarian Palace (did the creators of this game have something against articles?) and pay no mind to the hordes of guys chasing you. "They'll quit in a minute," you said. "They're so much weaker than me," you thought. I dare you to try that here, buster. It will be a long while before you can tear it up like in 1-1 after you got some soul levels. Always be mindful of your surroundings and remember that just because it's only a single enemy doesn't mean the fight will necessarily be easy. These guys are super fast and they have air support. The gliding rainbow stingrays can actually skewer you through walls on occasion, so pay attention at all times!

In the beginning, don't be afraid to run up, kill the first DEATH MACHINE, and then limp back to the nexus. Take your time and learn their behaviors. At times, they're relentless, at times, they're bizarre and unpredictable; ofttimes, they're a mix of both.

Terrain is your friend. Especially against an enemy that gets caught on things easily while rolling around.

If you're gonna run, I hope you're not wearing a full suit of armor. Heck, I hope you're an Olympic-class sprinter—these guys are dynamite chasers. If you're heavy, stand and fight. Better to die facing your enemy than by a sword to the back, right?

There's a cool ring that's reasonably easy to get early on in the first area of Shrine of Storms. It restores your health little by little over time while you wear it. Might be useful while you're cowering behind a corner, praying the whirling silver dervish didn't see where you went.

Wean yourself off of the "lock on" feature. On those windy trails, it can be as deadly as the skeletons. On the subject, those floaty stingrays are worth gobs of souls, but using "lock on" is a great way to miss 'em.

Adjudicator will infuriate you to no end. The arena is cramped, there's all kinds of crap to get caught up on, and his reach is phenomenal. For some players, that battle is as much about luck as it is skill or soul level.
