Don't forget the (not technically a combo) 1H WD R1> WR R1. Very useful for PvP. :)

They should also mention something on the page about how it benefits more than any other weapon from CW at the SL125 range. (I think Meat Cleaver surpasses it in Base Damage + Bonus Damage at SL712, not positive though.)

DBS has several combos.
(2H)R1,R1 - the one you described. Really strange combo, I agree. But there are others:
(2H)R1,R2 - forward combo.
(1H)R2,R2 - powerful forward combo.
(1H)R2,R1 - faster forward combo.

This weapon can knock an enemy down which is very complimentary to the fact that its combo is less than adequate terrible. The best way to use it is too attack then wait for the combo to stop then attack again, by doing this you'll avoid the 2nd part of the extra large sword combo in which the sword is slashed backwards.
