For the Shotel, it depends on what your highest stat is, really. If you have the highest stat in dex, then a Sharp or even a Mercury will be ok. If you have highest stat in Magic, then Moon would be best. Bleed status, in and of itself, is very negligible as all it does is add a small HP drain. Poison is much better for the halved healing and plague is the best, slower stam regen and half healing. Remember, though, Shotel is only a 50% shield ignorance, not a 100% like Blind or LSoM (which are worse than Shotel, in my opinion, anyways).

What did he do to deserve it? i recomend the same strat but he didn't deserve it, in fact Atlan_USO deserves it more. OP weapons like northen regalia at low lvls = easy win.

Not only you have completely OP weapons at that lvl, northen regalia will probably 1~2 shot ppl at thoses lvls you also have problems with shield users?

Are you serious? Get a single spell. Acid cloud. Poison cloud. Any will work. Other than that a opponent 2h a shield wont be able to atack so he is no threat.

Yeah I know, this is the reason why I tested Scraping Spear only one time.
But in cases like this, it is not bad to have it in the inventory :-)

I do PVP also with my SL 120 Faith and SL 120 but I think more Players are below this Soullevel.
Yesterday I tried to invade some with this chars in 1-4 and never get a connection. Also you will be never summoned as Blue to help the host through the level.
Most time I'm summoned by a host who will redsummon after this a Black Phantom to his world.

But this I hate. When someone summons a Black Phantom, then it should be a duell.

So I changed back to my SL 53 and invaded or placed blue signs to help other.
If I invade and notice that the host is a new player with standard weapons or really poor PvP skills, I normally try to help them to 1-4.

The scraper is one of those "do unto others as you would like done to you" weapons.I personally think its a cop out weapon, unless youre scraping jumpers lol. Babys Nail is very effective,plague is hands down the best status in ds.
At sl53 you most likely will be invading new players too, you should try invading 80sl + im sure you will find many more problems to solve.

Nah, this is not a question of good or bad.
I'm in the NG+ game and it's nearly done, so I had more chances to get the ores. I don't think I had managed it in only one run-through.

Baby's Nail inflicts plague? Oh… I doesn't know this till now… I never used it before :-(

Hey thanks for your answers!!

Unfortunately I have no great magic abilities, it's like a mixed charakter on a low SL level. I have only Warding in use.
But I think I will try to follow two hints from you:

- Scraping Spear
- Shotel

Hiding is not really my playstyle, but maybe in such situations it is a good alternative. I will keep it in mind.

One question to the shotel (I never used it before):
Would you recommend to use a
- Moon Shotel+5 (~223 damage + 120 Bleed)
- Mercury Shotel+5 (~114 damage + 120 Bleed + 360 Poison)

The poison would help to reduce their healing, but the base damage is not the best.
Normally I'm able to survive some time against 2 other players, so it could be good to take one player out of the full healing or force him to retreat a little bit out of the fight, so that I have only to face one other player for a short time.

The Scraping Spear will be added to my standard equipment which I take with me in a fight.
I tested it only one time on another char, but it had helped me yesterday a lot in the turtle fight.

Inflict them with a status like poison (cloud) or plague (cloud /bby nail) use thiefs ring to backstab them while healing. And man you have two +5 weapons at sl 54 youre not doing bad.

scraping spear + acid cloud

Force them into a more open zone more suited to your style rather than fighting them in their style. Additionally, remove Eternal Warrior's and equip a thief's ring and keep following them out of range of their sight, basically making you invisable as you should have no aura. This can maybe lead them to believe you are not behind them and they might try to progress through the level leaving their backs exposed. Another choice is to bust out the DBS+5 or maybe Brand (if you got the min str to 2hand it atleast) flatten the turtle to death. If you can, you can also try using magic attacks on the turtle, as it should do damage to him through the PFS(if it isn't a Dark PFS), atleast 70% of the normal damage without the factoring of armour, I do not know if you have magic avialable to you however. The spells should get more damage through than the Moon Knight Sword+5 because it has no physical damage to it. Do not use fire attacks against a PFS, as it blocks 90% fire damage. Dragon Mirdan Hammer is probably not a good choice to use as it is only getting 10% of it's damage through. Yet another option is to break out a Shotel, or even the Blind/LSoM in this case if you can use them. Shotel will get through 50% of it's damage against all shields, and Blind and LSoM completely ignore them.

Hi guys,

yesterday I invaded someone in in 1-4, and he had a fight strategy which I never seen before in PvP.
Maybe you can help me with some hints.

Ok, first of all, I'm SL53 and was equipped with Dragon Mirdan Hammer+5 and Nothern Regalia in pure black soul tendency (Eternal Warrior ring was equiped, too).

The other player used sometimes two shields or one shield doublehanded as I guess.
Right hand was a purple flame shield (maybe a +10) and the other was a smaller one (I don't know which it was, maybe a kite or something else).
All the time he was blocking and I was not able to break his guard, not with Mirdan Hammer, nor with double handed Nothern Regalia.

Additional to that, he had a Blue Phantom in the game.
The double shielded host blocks the small stairway in the first tower with his shield strategy and the blue phantom tried to hurt me with a bow from above.
After a few tries on the host I managed it to dodge past him and rush to the Blue Phantom, which takes a downfall to the bottom to eskape me.
Nah, let make it me short:

I lost the fight at the end against this two, but the main question is:
How could I manage it to break the doubleshield of the host? On my soullevel I haven't 160 stamina (I know, the host hasn't it, too).
Additional I tried a double handed Moon Knight Sword+5 to bring his gurard down, but this also fails.

So I have no idea what to do (exept to manage a lucky backstab).
Maybe someone of you can help me out of this question :-)
