differing numbers when nonequipped vs equiped 2 hander

So much has been written about being a Blue Phantom to help change it. Help from anyone who actually knows.

I was wondering if using the DDS will decrease the damage I do with a Blueblood sword imbued with Light weapon.

i had finished helping someone in world 3-1 and was loading back to the nexus...but it got stuck on the loading screen. so i quit out of DS (probably not a good idea) and reloaded the game. i went back to the nexus and the blue phantom guy was there, ostrava wasn't and neither was patches (orignially the blue phantom wasn't there and ostrava+patches was). however, when i thought i could just go back to 4-2 to get patches, he wasn't there either...is there any way around this? if not, whats the fastest way to get the healing grasses besides farming? PS-Graverobber Blige is gone as well....
