I've been trying for about 3 days, a few hours each to get a pure bladestone off the black phantom dual katana skeleton in 3-2 (backtracking from old heroes archstone) and i've maxed out my shards, and have a ton of chunks, but just can't seem to get the pure bladestone. started on level 135ish, now level 181, luck 45, and been using large sword of searching. Am i doing something wrong?

I got mine off the non-phantom dual katana guy in the hidden passage, at PBWT. 10 luck and no LSoS or anything. For me he dropped a pure the very first time I killed him at PBWT, and two more pures by the time he dropped enough chunks for me to get my +5 sharp weapon. I don't know if there something special about 10 luck, or if the guy in the hidden passage has a much higher drop rate, or if I'm just the bladestone whisperer or something.

After killing the BP dual-katana skeleton somewhere between 300 and 400 times (not even exaggerating) and reading this thread, I decided to try my luck with the normal dual-katana skeleton in the secret passage. I got the pure bladestone after about 25 kills, amazing…
I was PBWT, and did it without the LSoS only cause people say they have got the drop without it, but I don't believe in the fact that it lowers the drop rate, that would just be ridiculous…but then again so was killing the BP 300-400 times [using LSoS (Soulsucker style)] with no drop then getting it after ~25 kills on the normal version >< @#$%ing game lol.

i'll try him on PBWT i was killing him on neutral but wasn't getting anything, and i have 3 million souls from the black phantom one lol. What was your character tendency? mine is pure white which i wonder if that has anything to do with it :(

Neutral character tendency, I have no idea if that makes a difference….

AH! finally got it! Started from adjudicator's archstone, and just killed the black skelley going toward the whitebow/primeval demon. White soul character tendency, pure black world tendency, 45 luck and large sword of searching lol. I think this guy has a MUCH higher drop rate for it than the black phantom black skelley. Earned well over 6 million souls trying to get this stupid ore lol, thanks for the help chue tao :D

how often did you have to try for the black skeleton, lilrues?
I've killed him dozens of times with LSS and still no luck

got plenty of chunks though, so I guess LSS is working to some extent

I got one today after 3 days of farming. I got it from the Dual Katana Skeleton on the hidden passage in 4-2. Pure Black world tendency, luck 32 and large sword of searching. The curious thing is that prior to getting it I had done about 5 run throughs up to the skeleton and obtained 3 chunks of bladestone and this time (6th would be) I got the Pure bladestone. It seemed that for a moment the rare drop rate in the world was high, after that I farmed for a while and only saw one more chunk. Same happened at 5-2 farming mosquitos for Chunk of Marrowstone. First run thruough got 2 chunks and one on the next, after that I just saw 1 more chunk. (also pure black WT) It would seem the first time you enter a world after loading the rare drop rate is higher than usual. I remember finding some stones I needed before just after loading a game. This might just be just a lot of luck, but maybe its true. Who knows :/.

Read that the Large sword of searching hinders getting it… Personally , just got mine using the black phantom skele… Took me a couple of hours…
