Underrated for a mage...
I'm playing NG+. Ring of Avarice + soulsucker + soul thirst and I'm netting a little over 50k souls per run, which is less than a minute. Setup: ring of avarice / theif ring. Left hand: silver catalyst (for extra MP) / Right hand: talisman of the beast. Walk up right behind first Flayer, soul thirst, soul suck, then quickly switch to weapon (i'm using demonbrand) and make sure to use two-handed. you can kill the bugs with one hit each using R2…leaving just enough time to get to next flayer before thirst runs out. evacuate. Takes less than 20 minutes for 1 million souls and there is very little risk.
