Claymore style weapons are among one of the most versatile, and perhaps best weapons in the game. As the weapon description implies, it should be used in two hands as using it one handed causes it to be very slow. At 40 endurance the sword will pull of a 4 hit R1 combo which is good because the R1 attack has a very good horizontal attack arc, and the combo can use include R2 attacks which are a fast verticle swing. It is however best to use the R1 combo. It's also worth noting that this weapon has excellent range, comparable to the pole arm style weapons, namely the infamous Mirdan Hammer.
Anyone interested in using a Claymore style weapon should do so based around thier stats.
-Strength builds should use a Crushing Claymore.
-Vitality builds should use a Dragon Claymore or a Northern Regelia.
-Faith builds should use a Blessed Claymore, or Large Sword of Moonlight.
-Magic builds should use a Moon Claymore.
-Dextarity users should use a Flamberge, it is a variant of the claymore that can be scaled using Dextarity uprades such as sharp and tearing, it's also worth noting it can use crescent for magic based builds. However it has slightly less base damage, but has a chance to cause bleeding. Also it looks pretty cool.
-For quality builds obviously use quality.
