PvP Celebrations?

Most players will perform an emote after killing you eg. wave/bow/shrug/ect… in online combat which to me, is no big deal.

Some players have send a msg and QQ about how many souls they lost, how they think it's unfair/cheap/cheating that they were defeated and so forth.

One thing I noticed that a few players around Slvl 120 will do after a battle is place a bright purple object on the ground. I have only seen it twice but it's driving me crazy that I have no idea what it is or it's significance.

Any idea what's going on? Wither good or bad I don't care I just want to know what it means.

Item is an augite of guidance. It's nothing more than their form of victory celebration.

I find that when more serious PvP'ers are BP hunting, they'll place a marker where they killed the Black Phantom. I think that's what they're doing, at least.

It really irritates me when somebody uses the Demon's Prank spell. So obnoxious.

The "sigh" emote usually means "serves you right", "that was pathetic", etc.

Most bow out of respect. If they wave, they probably know you.

That's what I usually see.

The bow isn't respect. You've been served. I will often sigh to my Blue Phantom buddies if a BP was easy. Anyone who winds up whining also doesn't wind up playing this game very long. You develop a thick skin pretty quick after a few dozen deaths from various sources.
I haven't seen the agate drop but I like the idea. The Demon's Prank had to be good for something. I like it, but I also like the in your face attitude of this game.

this would be situational.. i have seen a lot of ambushers bowing lol.. thats so lame xD
after they 3v1 your red sign, they bow.. lol.. i always laugh at this xD

I would argue the same way invading someone else's game is considered fair, 3 vs 1 on a red sign is still fair game. Thus bowing afterward could still be a sign of respect.

I don't agree with that…if you invade somebody, usually anything is fair game. Cheap tricks, triple team, whatever. The only exception would be maybe 4-1…if somebody invades there, you know they're a PvP'er looking for a good fight. With other levels, I think triple teaming is fair enough.

When you put down a Red SS, it's different. You shouldn't summon a BP and be waiting to backstab or ambush them. It's bad form because you know they're looking for a good fight, and SL's are on the line.

I can't agree more that you shouldn't ambush a Red Soul Sign Black Phantom if you have summoned them in. It is in bad sportsmanship.

Would you want to do a real life duel then have your dueler's buddy shoot you in the back while you are dueling? I don't think so.

I don't really do any emotes after I killed them. I just walk on and continue playing through the level.

I never email taunts after PvP, but I have received negative emails from players I've beaten when I was the Black Phantom. It's childish on their parts, but all it really does is let me know that I've gotten into their heads, and that I'm doing my job as a Black Phantom.

On occasion, I have emailed players (win or lose) after exceptionally fun/tough PvP battles, in order to compliment them. Sometimes, we'll end up playing co-op right after that. lol

As for the gestures in the emote menu, there's really no reason to get upset over that. It could be a show of respect, disrespect, or just celebration/relief.

I try to bow before or after a duel, unless I spawn and see the host with his back facing me, which I consider offensive and is probably trying to get a blue phantom to fight for him.

I roll around in a circle. It's an old WoW impulse for whenever I win in a pvp, I jump and hop around like I'm doing some jungle gym antics >.<

Either way, if it was a good fight I'd message the guy, and if I invaded him AGAIN, I'd try to help him with the area. :P

When I was at 2-1, I was dueling this super hard dude and had to retreat to the initial spawn with a sliver of life. When I was running back, the lizard men threw a stone and killed me. Later he sent me "Rock FTW!!?" I was kind of pissed when that happened but when he sent it, I was kind of laughing. Its good to have a little humor when you are gaming.
