With a quite useful Stormruler, you may think its lame (probably not). If you don't already know this, pay attention. Grab a Stormruler, (the sword, the one that looks like a unicorn's horn) and go to Storm King Archstone. Soon as you enter the stage, turn around and run straight forward. Take a right. And go inside the smashed building. Once inside, go to the RIGHT corner, not the left. Stand in the corner and two-hand Stormruler. Lock on, and your tornado thingy that spins should murder the flying manta thingies. Have fun with your unlimited souls :D

Normally up to 18,000+ souls per visit to the fabulous shrines with a Ring of Avarice :P

WARNING: Side effects may include: SL712idus, explosive fart, and obsession with fish (especially flying fish).

Its NOT the best farm for soul levels/time but is a necessary farm for also farming the 4-3 geckos for chunk and pure darkmoonstone. Your can get those 18000 souls farming the first reaper in 4-2 in 3.5 minutes w/o ring of avarice shooting him from the entrance with 3-4 arrows then suiciding off the cliff.

I found a good way for Soul farming in the Shrine of Storm.
Go to the Old Hero Archstone and walk back to the second Reaper…as you enter the room with the Reaper DON'T kill him but kill the Shadowlurker that he summons, in particular the one that uses laser against you.
You'll get 1036 Souls (with PWWT) each Laser-Shadowlurker killed with a Ring of Avarice equipped…it's not so much but you can kill as many Shadowlurker as you want untill the Reaper is alive…I obtained 120.000 Souls in 20 minutes ^^

If you're at the Old Hero Archstone, wouldn't it be easier and faster to just shoot those Mantas?

Yes but they are harder to hit and when they are all dead you have to go back to the Nexus, instead if you start killng the Shadowlurker you can go on killing them as long as you want, untill the Reaper is alive.

Alternate way of farming that i personally think is the best:

Requires Soulsucker, lots of spices, (Soul up items optional) (Graverobber's ring also optional)

After beating the old monk go to 3-3, equip Graverobber's ring if you have it and make sure you have soul sucker, sneak up behind the black phantom at the entrance to where you are currently and soul suck him, you should get about 17k souls with NG+ depending on if you have soul up items, then go down the stairs a little bit, and kill the small enemy with many faces, continue down the stairs till you reach the other black phantom, soul suck him and you should get about another 17k souls, then rinse and repeat, this only takes about 20 seconds and you can get about 40k souls in one simple run!

I really wanna know how people say it only takes 20-40 seconds to do this run. I just tried it last night. It took me about 40 seconds to soulsuck the first Mindflayer and kill the facebugs.

You can take liberties with stealth because the Mind Flayers take forever to turn around. It also depends on how efficient you are at killing the facebugs.

I have learned now of the Soulsucker Old Hero Archstone, which is faster but not as near as safe. Requires plenty of practice and with the new patch you need to bring your World Tendency down over and over again. Also it is pretty hard to screw up the manta tactic.

lol soul farming the reapers and doing suicide is good as well as thunder clapping mantas outta the sky with ring of averice equipped or w/e, but both r pretty good (prefer reaper 1 cause i get stones and other drops compared to mantas). I like to head to the stonefang mines for getting souls and tons of ores for upgrades, its not the best way to farm perhaps but its rewarding in ores.

ive never used a bow before lol im a magic user with lots of mana and sometimes my ray hits two and three baby manarays at once. Id still use soul ray but lava bow is probably just as effective for melee users. thanks anyways.
