I was playing with my first character, and was having trouble beating 2 1 and getting to the armor spider, so I decided to get summoned to watch some other players do it. We ended up killing the beast, and right after the fight, I hear the "you get a trophy" noise. I knew I wasn't getting armor spider's trophy. I was a blue phantom. Imagine my surprise as I looked at it to discover I'd been given the old king's trophy. I was a little confused, so I decided to go check it out. I killed ostrava in the nexus, ad took the key to open Doran's door. (After dying many times against the red eyes) When the door opens, there's just a pile of items and the demonbrand there to greet me. No king, no fight. Just free armor. The same thing happened to my next character as well, minus the trophy awarding. Every character I've made since has had to fight him like normal.
Lucky! Doran is so annoying…he's not really that hard to fight, it's just that whenever you're about to kill him he uses New Moon Grass -_-
I've never heard of this glitch. Not sure what set it off.

Old King Doran is easy
Poison Cloud from a safe distance
Then get a soda, change the channel and watch TV, checking every 3 minutes or so
You may need to use the spell multiple times

I was just playing as a black phantom in 2-1, the host died, but instead of me going back to 2-1 i was responded at 1-1 ,was awarded the old king trophy and most of the enemies in the level were dead already. not a complaint at all but strange.
I've had it happen that I respawned at a completely diffirent world as well. I helped someone beat the Armor Spider as well and I respawned at 4-2, of all places..
Vanguard in my 4-1 game has disappeared, so it might just as well have happened like this. Too bad his Demon's Soul wasn't there though …
Old King Doran is extremely hard imo, it's not the most difficult fight, but it just takes so long and if he hits you you're dead. (I do everything at pure melee, I don't like taking the cheap magic trick or backstab tactics way out)
old king doran is sooooo easy…..I just equipped thief's ring, attacked him, ran, backstabbed him, ran then backstabbed him again and so on and on…..he is not hard.
