The LSoS does increase the enemy drop rate but it significantly increases the drop rate of *common* items which reduces the percentage chance that you will receive rare items! I have verified this by searching for chunks of spiderstone on the fisticuffs miners in 2-2. I searched for 2 days with LSoS equipped and got 1 chunk of spiderstone. I then de-equipped the LSoS and found 4 chunks of spiderstone in ~30min!
