I personally believe level 4 and all it includes is the coolest level in the game, with Boletarian palace running a distant, distant second.

Excellent atmospherics and wicked awesome enemies;

Fast and crazy silver skeleton knights! Bada@@ fire-eyed dual katana wielding black skeletons! Incredibly strong gold skeletons with giant swords! Storm-spire-shooting flying stingrays of doom! Underground passages and perilous mountain patheways to explore! A crazy hawk lady to trade with! Some of the best items in the game to be found! The place to FINALLY unleash all that pent up early game frustration upon the now pathetic Vangaurd! Three of the best soul farming spots in the game! A magic stone forest where the power to rend the sky with a sword can once again be reclaimed! Adjudicator, the strangest boss in the game! Black phantom master satsuki, by far the hardest black phantom in the game, IM0!

I enjoy playing this level again and again as I experiment with different weapon / armour spell combos.

How do you guys feel?

I completely agree. Except that for me boletarian palace is a close second and bp setsuki wasn;t that hard. But other then that ya absolutely my favorite level. I go for the cheap arrows but stay for the awesome enemies who still manage to slaughter me around every corner. Also best soul farming level in the game.

I like it but I think I prefer Tower of Latria. It is so atmospheric, the sounds, the fog, the darkness, the cool creepy enemies (Mind Flayer, Legion, Face bugs, Gargoyles) and IMO the most difficult boss (Maneater).

Shrine is cool, but the bosses are some of the easiest in the game. Phalanx was harder than Adjudicator. I like BP and Latria. BP for the straight up action, Latria for the Lovecraftian atmosphere. The first time I got my brain sucked out by an Illithid I actually cheered.

BP and Shrine tie for me. I like them both 'cuz they give that "midevil" feeling. For the bosses, I think Bp has harder bosses but Shrine has stronger enemies. Another thing I like about BP is the epic-level boss fights and dragon -bridge runs. I like Shrine cus it has that deserted/dead feeling enviroment(ie. the reapers & skeletons).

Shrine of Storms, FOR THE WIN
i always complete this place first, just because of its name, and it has all the soul farming you could ever need
it keeps the sense of loneliness in this game, until you hit SL 60 then its a party house
It also is kinda of the off place of the game, castle, mines, tower, and a valley; but the shrine of storm feels like you have more of a spiritual place, compared to the others
it feels as if, you are drawn to this course, you also get some rare things here as well
It can also be the shortest of all the lvls, fog skip glitch(es)
as i said, "Shrine of Storms, FOR THE WIN"

Yh, shrine of storms is the best looking and best rewarding level there is IMO.
