both large sword of moonlight and istarelle base the magic damage on the player's faith stat, but which one (or neither) would you guys recommend i use for my faith build?
You cant trade Ring of Devout Prayer for the Moonlight sword, I just killed the NPC in the Nexus for the ring and tried to trade it only to be denied by sparkly the crow, you might wanna change that unless I did something wrong, but now I cant learn any more miracles, thanks for the bad adviceā¦
To quote the advice given: 'The sword can be traded with Sparkly the Crow for a Ring of Devout Prayer'.
I have just tested this and it is exactly correct.
You misunderstood.
You cannot trade the Ring for the Sword. Only the Sword for the Ring.
Hope that helps.
Assuming no, but haven't tried it.
Because Istarelle is mainly comprised of magic damage, with very little physical damage it inflicts(so minute it's not even worth considering this spear having any physical true damage.
Because of this, it's not even worth meeting the dex req this spear requires for it's phyiscal component.
In actuality this is the one weapon that by not meeting one of its requirements is in your favor-bounces off a shield, in return prevent potentially any counter hits, critical(push leading into a hit), or I believe an opponent trying to parry. Because of the bouncing off animation, this breaks the chance for oppon to parry.
Hence, Istarelle used as backup to a LSOM build with following stats. Great thing about two Istarelles(one on back and one as right hand weapons especially versus opponents using poision cloud, since you do not even need to grass, preventing you from possibly having to stop to grass, next thing you know you're on the ground from a nice backstab:)
BTW-I'm sure most know this, but using two of the same weapons together does stack if they are at different upgraded colorless soul levels. For example, +4 Istarelle in this case, throw on back, and use +5 Ist as your right hand weapon along the LSOM
