What is the soul stealing factor when invading as a black or summoned by a blue?

Here's an example:
I just invaded 1-2. There were 2 blues and the host. I had 0 souls in my inventory. I killed one blue and was awarded 30k souls. Was then killed by the other blue and left with 5k souls in my intenvotry. I've been hunting in 4-1 many times and sometimes I'm awarded as many as 50k souls for killing a black, sometimes am awarded 0.

At soul level 100+, sometimes I've invaded with 0 souls in my inventory, sometimes with as few as 100. How many souls are the host and blues awarded for killing me for having such few souls?

How are souls awarded to blue/black phantoms for killing blue/black phantoms?

From what I've experienced When being invaded and other people are with u, then last person who hits to kill the Bp gets the souls. However when u invade someone I've seen that u don't get any souls what so ever, unless you kill one of his/her blue phantom friends. And there is also a possability that bp who invade u who has no souls will Not be given to u as they had none to give. I killed a bp who invaded me not awhile ago and go nothing from him so I'd say that u get none if he/she has none.

I'd like to disagree on that. There's never been a BP that I've killed and not get souls for, as well as killing a blue and not get souls for. I get an average of more or less 12k souls per BP, and when my brother had invaded my world (2 PS3s) I got souls, even though he had none at all. I'd say you get a set amount, plus a portion of whatever they have after a certain amount of souls.

Invasion Only: The killer gets half a Soul Level's worth of souls of the present SL of the Black/Blue Phantom killed.

I have no idea if the killer gets the souls carried by the Phantom killed though.

Nevertheless, it's best to invade with zero souls. :)

Yeah, you get half the souls it would take for the BP to level up. The souls only go to whoever struck the killing blow, though, whether it be the Host or a Blue Phantom. If the BP has souls in his inventory, he will lose up to half his cost to level up, but if he doesn't have enough, he loses nothing. The Host or Phantom will ALWAYS get the reward; the BP only loses souls if they are in his inventory.

I always suicide in the Nexus, so when I kill a host I warp back there, pick up my bloodstain and suicide. You never lose any souls that way ^_^

I'm pretty sure he always loses something, so if he has less than half, that's taken away from him as well.

If that is so then I trust ur judgements. I will also try to test this more often.since I had a encounter where I got no souls from killing a bp. Chances are he might of turned of his ps3 at the time. However I will check with this more often.

I think he must have turned off his PS3. Whoever kills the BP should always get the reward, whether or not the BP has that many souls on him.

I don't think what's been said is quite right…

I invaded in 2-1 where there was 1 blue and the host. I went in with 0 souls. I killed the blue and was awarded 20k souls. Was then killed by the host and lost them all.

I was invaded in 1-3 with a blue. The black killed my blue. When I killed the black, I was only awarded 23k souls.

According to what's been said so far, I should have been given around 50k souls. When the black killed my blue, he should have been awarded ~20k souls. Thus, when I killed the black, I should have been awarded my 1/2 level (~20k) + the souls he aquired from killing my blue (~20k).

No, no…to the Host, it doesn't matter how many souls the Black Phantom has. You only get half the souls it would cost the BLACK PHANTOM to level up. This means that to the Host, it doesn't matter if the BP kills blues or whatever.

For a Black Phantom, when killing a Blue Phantom, they get half the souls it would cost the Blue Phantom to level up. When a Black Phantom kills a Host, they get no souls for it. If a Black Phantom is killed by a Host or Blue Phantom, the Host or Blue Phantom gets half the souls it would cost the Black Phantom to level up. The Black Phantom loses those souls IF he has them in his inventory. So, if it would cost a Black Phantom 50,000 souls to level up and he had 60,000 souls in his inventory, he would be left with 35,000 souls. If he only had 10,000, he would lose all 10,000, but the Host or Blue Phantom would still get 25,000 for the kill.

A Blue Phantom gets half a Black Phantom's cost of leveling up for killing them. If the Blue Phantom is killed by a Black Phantom, they would follow the same pattern for a Black Phantom killing a Blue Phantom (see above).
