I have noticed lately that some data is being added or updated on this site which is really nicely precise, but which is directly copied from other copywrited sources. I liked it as the wiki was developed and grew into capturing user experiences and trying to figure out how things work. There have been some errors and bad assumptions, sure, but it evolves towards better data as we figure it out. Now we just copy from others? We already know the strategy guide contains some errors or items which don't match the N.A. release, so I'm sure there could be differences in the asian versions as well.
Example: the Valuable Weapons page, which has now all confirmed weapons listed — the editor told me that he was able to "confirm" them all by copying from the list in the Atlus strategy guide.
Example: all the bosses now have a nifty table with specific numbers for all their weapon and elemental resistances. As above, they are all copied verbatim from the strategy guide numbers! There isn't even any need for the precise numbers since we don't have formulas for damage and resistance, so this is just gratuitous copying.
Example: all the weapon thumbnails are now super high res and beautiful; much nicer than the old random screen capture crops we had before… because they are all direct copies of the thumbnail images added to the Atlus wiki, which I am guessing probably also copyright.
Don't we have some policy here about copying information?
