When you play online in body form, you're inviting Black Phantoms to invade you. Those who don't understand that need to read the manual again. There's absolutely nothing wrong with invading any world as a Black Phantom and killing anyone or anything that you come across.
When I invade, I often start with Word 1, pick a level to invade, then move to World 2, and so on, and see how long I can keep going without getting the "invasion failed" message or getting killed. By the same token, it's fun to try to keep a similar streak alive as a Blue Phantom, to see how many different bosses I can help to kill in a row without any Hosts dying.
The Valley is a great place to invade, though. Because of the terrain, it's more difficult for three players to gang up on you without falling off a ledge (5-1) or getting slowed down by muck (5-2). And, as nelard pointed out above, the "poisoned" status telegraphs your enemy's position much of the time. I've also benefitted from that as a Blue Phantom, because some invaders refuse to wear the Ring Of Poison Resistance, carry an Istarelle or Brand through the swamp, or even wear appropriate armor. One time, a Black Phantom even died before reaching the Host and me. lol
If you can pull it off, it's fun to invade places that normally don't make any sense to invade, such as 2-3, 4-3, and 5-3. Logically, no one expects that, because all the Host has to do is run for the fog, but you can sometimes catch players off guard while they're messing with their inventories, summoning Blue Phantoms, or chatting with friends. As long as you gear up for close quarters combat in tight spaces (such as a good spear and a large shield, or the Fireball and Firestorm spells), you'll have an advantage.
