Trying to get a few more chunks / large shards of hardstone so I can upgrade my Short Sword +7 to a SS+8 which I can then, in turn, combine with the Storm Demon's soul to create my Morion Blade.

Been farming 2-1 and 2-2 allllllllllll night because I had read those were the best locations for Chunks / Large Shards of Hardstone.

Most specifically, for the Chunks, from the big glowing heated up in the forge iron sword wielding scale miners.

But so far I have yet to collect a single one tonight, deliberately wasted a bunch of Body Stones (real name is too long) so I could suicide and bring the WT down from PW to PB to increase my stone farming results.

Is there a better way to go about this?

You can actually purchase them from the Filth Man vendor in 2-1 and 2-2. Only shards are in 2-1, but he is super easy to get to (right outside of Ed's building near the archstone), and both are in 2-2.

To reach him there, take the left path all the way until you reach the side of the cliff that has paths taking you lower and lower. I think he will be on the lowest spot all the way to the left (left being the direction that he is in relation to where you came out of the tunnels)

Shards are 500 (cheap!) and Large shards are 1500 each. Make sure to bring along your Ring of Herculean Strength just in case you have enough souls to buy more than you can carry.

Oh, and he also sells sharpstone as well.

To get chunks, continue with the flame sword miners in 2-2 (top of ed's elevator, then evacuate).
Alternatively, kill the Geckos in 1-4 or the Gecko Nest in 2-2 for chunks.
Use Firestorm or God's Wrath in the nest. Jump down, land in the center and use spell/miracle. Reload where you stand and repeat.
PBWT will help if you have the ephemeral eyes.

lol, in 2-2 you can just find ur way through a passageway with a pick axe wielding lizard man, and get to a ton of geckos(use ranged and thief's ring or u will scare em all off) that can drop tons of ores. although u face up against 2 BP before u can reach em, but they should be easy since they have 2 large of weapons and as we all know, it takes time to recover from attacks with large-very large weapons. wait for em to attack and then give em a stab in the back or attack em from the front.

I'm not sure if you have killed the Crystal Geckos in 1-2 and 1-1. They gave me plenty of chunks, large shards and shards.
