Hi Guys…iam sl 72 and i would like to kill him this Time…last Time iam brought him down to 75% for the Sword…but well after that i was one hitted..if someone would like to lend me a hand just write it here thanks :) Also i didnt do much damage with my strongest weapon..makoto +5 …round about ~30 damage…PS: sorry for my bad grammar since english isnt my nativ language and iam writing on my iphone

Probably not, but just have thief ring on run away from him till he loses track of u. When his back is turned, backstab him(and poison cloud or death cloud him if u like) and then repeat the process until he dies(only cast the 2 cloud spells every few minutes).

I tried him last night at SL25 with about vit20 but he still killed me in one swing. I managed to get his sword without dying but finishing him off is risky. Several times I had him down to 10-20% using a Knight Sword and then I made a risky move and he killed me. In the end, I ran away wearing the thief ring and when he turns back around on the bridge, I'd run up behind him and backstab him. I combined this with Poison Cloud, like Benjamin_Draco said. Worked fine.

I should mention that I have a fully upgraded Baby's Nail and that did not inflict plague on him! So I am not sure Death Cloud would work.
Hmm, wiki says Baby's Nail should but it didn't work for me (I'm certain). So Death Cloud would prbly work then.

Another point to mention is if you let him make it all the way back inside the room where he gives you the sword, He will more often than not use a moon grass to heal. This can be extremely annoying especially when he has about 10% hp left lol.
I tend to make him follow me to the tower before the red eye knight, and throwdown there.

Old King Doran is immune to plague. Therefore you can't inflict it on him using either the Baby's Nail or Death Cloud.

Well, that explains why me waving the Baby's Nail at him did zilch lol.
The Baby's Nail and Death Cloud pages have incorrect info on this, specifically mentioning Old King Doran as being susceptible to them. I'm not sure if it got carried over from the Asian version, and then got patched in the US version.

It doesn't say anywhere on the Baby's Nail page anything relating to which enemies are suspectible to its Plague effect, but anyway, I've never been able to Plague him even once over several accounts via both methods.

Ok Ilkar. Ill have to confirm this one.

But im sure i have hit him with death cloud before.

I know you have played this game a million times but im just really sure i have hit him with the death cloud spell not babies nail.

If you look close at the damage it starts out by doing 5 at a time then gets greater. Death cloud must be effecting him.
Its at 30 seconds.

I believe that's poison cloud if it's at 5 hp per tick. I believe plague is 7 per tick.

yea if you watch the video it does more than 5 per sec. Does look like 7 and thats what i thought i did.

So i believe death cloud will work on him.

OK, here is the line (3rd para down) on the Baby's Nail page:
"A great dagger useful for every possible build. It's one of the greatest Pvp weapons preventing players from healing and dealing 7hp per/sec. (Also great against Old King Doran and healing NPC's)"

I don't know about Death Cloud cos I never tried it. I wonder if it was patched in the US version?

Confirmed today.

Death cloud and poison cloud will hurt him.

I was soul level 43 and hit him once with each and didnt have to re-cast again. It killed him.

Did not try baby's nail.
