Hi all. I know the DSS nerfs magic damage, but does it also nerf the magic damage of my moon weapons?

If so, how should I upgrade my Knight's shield?

Nope, it seems to only affect the damage done with magic that is cast. If you are worried about it it would be rather easy to confirm. The 2 blue eye knights in 1-2, load up 1-3, do a back stab on the first without DSS and on the second with and compare.

I don't remember the exact damage of backstabs, but i dont think the dmg you get from backstabbing is the same every single time provided that you are testing on the same enemy multiple times

yep, damage ratio is different with each type of enemy(including how farther u get into another archstone level). Which most people would say this is is 'no duh'

While you can't test backstabs/reposts, the Maiden in Black is amazing for testing damage on. Never dies (well, you can kill her easily, but she just gets back up an apologies for not dieing… ), is never aggressive, and is right next to stockpile. Take a few swings, look at the numbers, try a dif combo, and rinse and repeat
