Can't free Rydell

I have the special key?

Can't free Rydell

So I got the "Special Cell Key" from the wall after dispatching the dredgeling guy in the tower. Now I've gone to Rydell's cell and the game keeps telling me "It appears to be locked". I don't want to defeat the boss until I free him, just in case he disappears but I just don't know wtf is going on. Any ideas?

Wrong key, that one you have frees Yuria the Witch. Rydell's key is found in 3-2 in pure white tendency.

To be more specific on 3-2 key, you will find it in the first tower with the dreglings using yellow magic to hold up the chain to the large mechanical heart. walk up the stairs to the tipy top when in PWWT and the key should be yours for the taking. And the plus side is when that bridge between the stairs is made once, it never comes back down again, even if u change ur world tendency.

it does, if you are Pure White and you revert back to something lower than that before you ever reach the bridge, it will be down until you get pure white again

hmm, yeah thats obvious………as for the bridge once u get it, cross it, get key and then free rydell, it will stay up for every single playthrough, no matter ur WT.
