so im questioning if it is worth it to use demon souls for spells like firestorm and poison cloud for a melee based temple knight first play through. my int is 18 and my magic is i think 10 or 12, i really dont have plans to lvl them more. i took intel to 18 for 3 spell slots 2 for warding and 1 for a ranged soul something (the lowbie spell) and i had to lvl magic to 10 to even talk to freke haha.

so far the only problem i have had was flamelurker (i hate that bastard) otherwise rest of game has been extemely solid. this game is easily top 5 for me. i do plan to take him as far as i can no real plans to pvp at 120 maybe a little but i will take him further.

im kinda min/maxer when it comes to games like this i would rather stop lvling magic all to gether and just keep pumping str/vit/end/dex/faith/luck/intel/magic but i hear firestorm can be pretty nice if used in the right hands.

so basically with a low magic/intel score do the higher end spells work decent enough or should i turn the souls in for more souls than i can think of?

Something like Firestorm won't be doing the impressive damage you hear about, not to mention you would have to have full mp to cast it once, then be pretty much fully drained. Poison cloud on the other hand is not affected by magic power, so if the idea of poisoning something then waiting sounds like something you are into then go for it.

Agreed with DAmwake. If I am making a melee only toon, I usually just pick up poison cloud, acid cloud and death cloud on the magic side and/or cure, second chance and anti magic feild on the miracles side.

Some of the above use the same stone so you would have to pick one over the other. I usually just eat stone for spells I don't want since I have the trophy for casters already.
