Best way to get Talisman of the Beasts

What is the Best way for me to get the Talisman of the Beasts? Let me start of by saying that Ostrava aggro'd on me and I had to kill him in 1-1. so with that in mind: Can I still do the Mephistopheles quest to get it? or am I better off doing the scrivir BP in 2-3?

Scrivir BP in 2-3 is the way I do it every time because you can change the world tendency to black so easily. So I can't say about the other ways but i get it from Scrivir no problem. Just put on a thief's ring and use poison cloud. You will have it in a matter of mins.

Yep, I got mine from Scirvir, just poisoned him and did a killing blow for the drop and to get the kill for character tendency, but be careful not to push him off a ledge or the drop will most likely hang in the air.

Just get a katana and soul remains (30). Throw them closer and closer to the ledge (don't get near them yourself!) and wait until he casts a spell at it, then backstab and throw another. Then when he gets close enough, 2-hand the katana and power push him off.

But wouldn't pushing him off a ledge risk losing the drop to the air? Or do u mean push him onto another so u can range or mage him to death, or w/e fashion u prefer to do?

If he goes off the edge then i'm pretty sure you can reload the game and pick up the ToB at his spawning point.

Just go into hype mode and shoot him from the landing across from the ledge he is on.

Or you could just use PFS and actually fight him. He's not *that* hard to beat, and once he runs out of mana, all you have to do is let him smack your shield and slash him back…

You can do it however you want.
He wanted to know the best way to get it. There is no BEST way. It is all in what is easiest for any particular player to do it.
Some can run up and take on any Mob toe to toe, some can't.
Knowing all avaliable options is better than having to do it one way because somebody says that they have no problem doing it that way.

Yes, he really isn't that tough as long as you're good at dodging.

A good way to beat him down (that I just did today) is to use a great sword or DBS to continuously knock him down. Using 2-handed R1 attacks are easy to time out, just swing as he starts to get off the floor. If you knock him into the corner, R2 work too, but he gets up much quicker.

Meat Cleaver is quite good for that method as well - really, any of the high damage knockdown weapons will work.

Even knockdown isn't overly necessary. I used a BBS + iCat-cast Light Weapon at only around 20 Luck and he never stopped staggering. I poked him off into the shaft and laughed as I heard his scream of death. >:)

I do the whole hypermode Sticky Compound Longbow+5, he dies fast. Really fast.

BP Scirvir is the easiest way to get ToB. It sure beats waiting and doing the Mephistopheles quest and killing Ostrava for it. To do it that way, it's best to wait until after Ostrava has given you the Pure Clearstone. But then he has been known to die in other areas of the game first, so take lava bow or your best bow and take potshots at Scirvir, but he does replenish his health so you have to watch for him to start to do so and spam him so he doesn't get the chance.
