Summary:

Need to know the pros and cons of all the spells. I am asking for the PVE point of view.

I just got my dragon god demon soul and really wondering which ones should I go for, I alr released sage, yuria and st urbain, so really stuck in a dilemma, well trilemma actually in choosing the spells.

I am playing a BBS build with magic mixed in. My target is about 30 magic at slvl 120, faith is 16. So, I know damage wise firestorm and fireball will be better than god's wrath. ( I am assuming the spells scales correspondingly to mag and faith), but I kinda read a bit, and people say gods wrath is more reliable in hitting enemies as compared to firestorm.

Well, I think I should mention the main reason why I want the spell, which is farming the 2-2 gecko nest. I have left it virtually untouched, and I just finished world 2 as well and its in PWWT currently. My plan is to finish up all the white world events and reset the world to pure black and start farming the nest. Thats the only reason I will be using this spell I think since I only got 100+ mp, and its good enough for one cast only.

So, my main question is in farming the gecko's nest at 2-2, which spell is best for me.

And I would really appreciate it if theres any other pros and cons of the spells that I should know about with regards to PVE. Thanks.

My understanding is that God's Wrath works very well-it's also what I used and it did work for me. You might want to see what others have to say. It did however take me 2 casts to kill all geckos in the nest. If you have some Old Spice that would make it quick to replenish your MP for this. I'm not sure if geckos are harder to kill in PBWT as enemies are. I also don't know if going to PBWT is needed for the nest so someone else could tell you that, too. All I know is I got a boatload of ores from there, needed to use my Ring of Herculean Strength.

If you can whip out some fresh spice fast enough you might get a couple casts quickly. Also, you want to make sure you can roll quickly. That's to get to the bottom of the nest as fast as you can.

Thanks for the advice bro, esp the rolling part, and I went for firestorm, its really random though, i might still miss some geckos, but if it hits, its strong enough to kill them right away. Now i got so many large shards and chunks, so wont really worry much about getting the trophies for hardstone and sharpstone weapon.

I think firestorm is really effective against most bosses & fireball is great against normal enemies. I cant say about gods wrath , never used it . I would get firestorm on 1st playthrough, then fireball on 2nd.

Firestorm, you are going to want 2nd chance if you are using BBS (im not an expert but im sure most builds use it)
here is a list of MY pros and cons

Fireball:
Pros- ranged, decent damage, large hit area, fire damage, good for stopping a players charge, 2 slots
Con- weakest of the 3, slow
Firestorm:
Pros- a lot of damage, mid-close range, can be used after a backstab, can stop a players charge if you are pro
Cons- 3 slots, easily predictable, leaves you wide open for an attack, sometimes enemies fly at you and deal damage to you

God's Wrath(i am not very familiar with but here is what i know):
Pros- 2 slots, larger hit range than FS, deals the same amount of damage as FS, used after a backstab
Cons- need 4 slots to use with 2nd chance, leaves you open before the attack, VERY slow, scales with faith stat (bad for mages)

I use firestorm so it is just a personal preference

I don't believe God's Wrath damage gets even in the same ballpark as Firestorm.

Anyways, the original question was about farming gecko's nest. I have used both spells, and firestorm misses between 1/3 and 1/2 of the geckos, due to not going through obsticles (the mine carts) or over elevations. In NG+ though, with low Faith it will take at least 2 casts to kill them, which means you need to keep OLD SPICE ready. They dissapear if you eat 2 fresh spices.

If you hit an enemy/boss with a single spout of flame from FS, God's Wrath will do about the same if magic is same as faith. Multiple spouts of flame hits from FS, FS will blow God's Wrath away for sure. Atleast, that is what I noticed on bosses and enemies that don't get knockbacks/knockdowns, like the Giant Goblins.
