Low Level Invades

I have started a couple new guys recently to have some fun and I have noticed people invading me at what I think are really low levels.

My first reroll I am sl 21 and I get invaded in 2-1 by a dude wearing monk headwrapings, and insanity catalyst, it made me laugh because is poor mana pool was so little.

Last night I roll a new melee type and I am sl 14 just beat Phalanx and am starting 1-2 and I get invaded. I off the dude but I felt like messaging him and helping him out. The least he should do is take off his armor so he can roll.

After that the invades continued most of the night.

I am not sure what they gain by trying to invade that low, maybe they think they can roll noobs but I think the majority of the play base at this time is experienced (even if playing a low SL char at the time) with a minimal influx of new players.

That would make sense.
Lately I've seen in influx of +5 Dragon Mirdan Hammer and Northern Regalia users at SL 20, which is worrying, especially if you aren't good at parrying online.

Hahaha

When i started playing this game, i got my first invasion in 1-2 right after the 1st cross with the dragon. I was a knight with a few lvls more so probably lvl 10.
Needless to say i got owned.

I invaded 2-1 about a week ago at SL15-20 with a Knight Sword (that I'd bought from the vendor in 3-1). The host had a DBS and very strong Mirdan Hammer.
I avoided the DBS easily but then he switched to the Mirdan Hammer. He wiped me out in 2 hits (vit was about 20 i think).
I asked him how he'd got hold of a DBS if he had not completed World 2. He said a friend had given it to him, along with the +5 Hammer - at least he was honest!

As for being invaded really low, I was invaded in 1-2. I was probably about SL 10. They lost because I'd just been to 4-1 to fetch the Crescent Falchion+1.

SL6 i think…
i just beat 1-1 and i was quickly going to get the winged spear in 1-2 and return using a shard of arch stone
but i got a someone is invadidng message just as i was starting my sprint for the spear
he had the storm ruler, and casted ignite in hypermode (im assuming he was trading or he was just that skilled)
he came and charged right at me with ignite, i dodge, i back stab him into the flames of the dragon, he dies

I've been invaded a few times with low level players using high level gear before, mostly with a +5 Dragon Mirdan and such. I find it discouraging and bullying to use such high gear or magic against newer players who just started this game and possibly is still using starter equipment.

That guy is a feminine hygiene product. If you're going to invade people like that, at least have the common courtesy to kill them quickly rather than dragging it out and running around making them look foolish…

Lol wow thats like extremely stupid, why would you even bother invading at low levels. I really don't see the point, Now i feel like creating a new character and getting my friends to give me stuff so i can sit around for invaders and own them using the right equipment.

I actually am a "low level invader" myself, though most of the time I do it for colorless farming or world tendancy manipulation..

However, when I started my DBS guy, I went through 2-2 ASAP to get my sword, went and picked up the armor I wanted to use (venerable, assassin, hard leather, Gloom), and started invading 4-2 at around level 22. The main reason I did this was to find 3v1 fights that don't work like higher levels (I don't want to get jumped, but I do like having 2 or 3 players fighting me at once), and to learn to use my DBS against other players effectively…and I have indeed leared a few sweet moves that I had never used previously in PvE, and without them higher leveled guys would murder me without the experience.

A good 80% of my low level invades end in victory in 1 or 2 hits, but every so often I get multiple opponents (always fun to triumph aginst 3 people who are 10-20 levels higher than you) or a really good player. Like, I fought another DBS, and we hit each othe at the exact same time twice, which killed him, and left me with 3 HP. One of my 3v1 wins, one of the phantoms messaged me and I found out he was twice SL when I offered to lay down my soul sign.

I was invaded at about level 15 once by somebody using Baby's Nail. I got them down pretty low a few times dealing about 20 damage per swing with my Claymore. Eventually they got me with plague and I just gave up. No lotuses, and I didn't want to waste all my grass healing through it.

I've also invaded at low levels before, but not very often. I'm usually in body form nowadays.

I wonder if this is some of the reason that leads to some of the behavior seen later.

I am in no way trying to call you out draco. I understand 100 percent the reasoning behind your motivation for low level invading. To get better for when you hit 120 instead of learning then.

I just wonder how often this actually happens. Where a veteran player gets a bunch of high level gear and invades low levels.

I just wonder if my opinion of this game would change had i not got this game from day one.
If i say… just got the game 2 weeks ago and at a soul level of 30 i was being invaded by blue blood swords, dragon bone smashers and hypermode mages i would be greatly annoyed.
If it happened often enough i may even get angry enough to jump people later say using the same weapons that destroyed me at such an early level as i was learning the game.

I am not trying to say the jumping behavior is ok. Just that i could totally see where it comes from.

I mean a veteran player understands the levels and can get all that gear easially. But at some point there has to be some sort of conduct like most people desire a code of conduct in PvP.
I was summoned as a blue in 4 - 2 say soul level 50 to 60 ish.
A black phantom invaded using a blue blood sword with an insanity catalyst. I watched the host… wearing a full set of brush wood armor, using a winged spear and a steel shield charge right. Well in 3 seconds he was dead.
Ive seen countless videos where people go all out for low level PvP. I saw one dude have like 9 vit 9 end and like 45 magic. Using a +5 kris blade and just destroyed "newer players" Ohh forgot he had second chance too.
So its ok to just smoke "newer" players with your pvp specific build that can be achieved at a low soul level over and over again. But then later on get mobbed jumped and attacked. somehow thats not ok?

I understand that demons souls has a learning curve. But how would you have liked to been invaded by a pole user going hyper mode and mowed through you like nothing?

I did get crushed by a Dragon Miridan user in 1-2 on either my first or second character. Also been backstab OHKO'd by a Meat Cleaver in 4-2 on my first character. I figured such was the norm, as only every so often do I get a low level BP who is actually a terrible player (got one last night in 2-2, full Knight starting gear at lvl 30. Had a Hyper Mage Blue who one shot him with Soul Ray). I tend to *get* invaded most often at lower levels as well, even moreso than at 120.

you had just set out a very good example imo for getting at what i was talking about in my topic.

So i do not say what you are doing is good or bad.

The one thing I love about low level invade is, if you're an experienced player starting a new character, you know how to handle these clowns. Me, I always start as royal, get the mausaleum key by NOT killing Ostrava (bakcktab him into the dredglings, then run past them to get the blue eyes knight to finish him off so my character tendancey doesn't fall), kill Old king Doran using the backstab/thief's ring combo. When I level up for the first time, I make sure my stats allow me to use the demonbrant with 2 hands at no penalty. Any experienced player that invades me is doomed. One hit with that weapon and they're done, which only the increases the damage demonbrant ouputs. I say BRING IT ON!!

To you new players, I say learn how to beat Doran via the method above, take that weapon and smite anyone who invades your world at a low level!!!

The only time when I invaded a lowbie was at that time, I was de-levelling my magic stat down to 6. I was just playing around, no harm done. It was some knight with full fluted armor. Obviously I knew this guy was a newbie so I took it easy on him with a short sword, making the fight fair and square. As the fight drag on, he was getting better and better by the moment. He would switch over to two-handed sword to break through my shield, strip off some of his armors to roll better and also did the same thing that I did to him, BS during grass munching. I let him win at the end, he deserves it.
