I realized this a little while ago, but you can almost immediately reach any soul lvl, if you have a friend with a ton of free time

Here is how it goes:
1. You and a friend beat 1-1
2. die and make a blue soul sign
3. have your friend summon you
4. have him send you away with thanx
5. repeat 3 and 4 until you have at least a trillion souls
6. SL up to your hearts content

I've noticed this effect too but I'm not sure if it goes by your current total soul amount. I think it might have something to do with the amount of souls earned during that session because when I help someone farm BP's in 4-1 and they white eye stone me, I may earn anywhere from 100k to 200k extra souls. But my total souls never double (that would be about 3 million souls lol). But yeah its always better to have them send you away then just leave.

Yeah, it doubles the amount of souls you've gained from that Phantom session. Effectively, you get as many souls from that session as the host does.

oh, oh well, i used to help people in 4-1 PVP (PvP newbs only), and since i usually find a way to spend all of those souls i am around 1000 at the time,
at the end of the session with them i double how many souls i earned, so i just assumed

yeah it takes a true genius with patience, time, and knowledge of the soul arts to do that
