As stated in the summary, do arrows work on the rubble? Or do only magic and melee attacks work?
Magic and melee attacks will only work, Although I haven't tried white arrows im sure there is no difference from heavy arrows.
I've tried arrows on the rubble, but it so far doesn't work, just melee and magic works.

I honestly found the quickest way to dispose of the rubble is by using a shield bash.
Yup, Adjudicator's shield works well. Rolling Great Axe or running DBS attacks are also really good (especially if the DBS bounces off the wall, cancelling the animation)
I always use a katana it's goes through one shot if running least for me +5 sharp one not sure about if you use a weaker one. And your can keep running right afterwards no stopped momentum.
thanks for the info guys! good thing i use an uchigatana +5 x] oh btw, is the mercury uchigatana any use? i just think it'd annoy the crap out of the player if they got two status effects on em xDDD poison and bleeding
nope, arrows don't work. But what you can do is use a catalyst in one hand and bow in the other and snipe with the bow but don't fire. Now when you exit precision mode your spells will hit where you were targeting before as long as you don't touch ether analog stick. As for mercury, I wouldn't. Follow the sharp path if your a dex build or a qual build if your char is balanced. Also it's worth pointing out that because i can tell your new that Blacksmith Baldwin can only upgrade normal and quality. For any other stone you have to use Ed in Stonefang. Also you passed the point for everything but moon and crescent by going to +5. For Sharp or tearing it has to be un-upgraded (+0), for quality and mercury it has to be +3, and for moon or crescent +6. If you want to do twin status effect's get a Baby's Nail +5 as your secondary wep. This is better for several reasons being it does plague damage and not poison. This is better because the toxin will do more damage per second than poison, last much longer (unless cured by darkmoon or a lotus), and in addition it halving healing herbs it also drastically slows the speed of stamina recovery.
Sorry about the Wall O' Text but I hope it helps.
Right, it has to be EXACTLY +3 to use mercury or quality (this is for all weps that have these paths not just uchi), So your only options are really use a melt stone, get a new one in NG+ or have a someone give you one of theirs. Personally I have a maxed uchi for every branch on my "main".
He can also get em from drops off of Dual Uchi Black Skeletons in wolrd 4. I got a ton of them farming for pure bladestone. Like 10 uchis I had left over with stockpile thomas after all that farming for 1 stupid pure bladestone.
Thank you all for your help :D I'm a very inquisitive and relatively new to some concepts of the game, so when you've got time, please zoom to my more recent thread, "Deleveling". I'm a bit confused x]
