In Game Description
A long bow with limbs like a spider's leg.
It was forged from the Soul of the Demon "Armor Spider." It imbues all arrows fired with fire attributes.
As with all Unique Weapons, you must have beaten Flamelurker and have given the Red Hot Demon's Soul to Blacksmith Ed before upgrade is available. Have any of the above equipped and out then talk to Blacksmith Ed. He will mention upgrading weapons using demon souls and it will then ask you to give the soul of Flamelurker to him. Say yes, then talk to him again and select upgrade weapons. The lava bow will be an option
While not listed in its stats, the Lava Bow applies an additional 100 Fire damage to all arrows it fires. This fire damage scales with the Magic stat.
Preferred by low Dexterity players as it does not have high stat requirements, but still does good damage because of the passive fire effect. This will stun a great majority of the enemies for a small amount of time, allowing you to normally fire off a second shot before the enemy is able to move. This can be helpful in many situations, such as the Reapers in 4-2. It is truly an exceptional bow for the first game and possibly even a new game+ or ++.
This bow can also be great for PVP especially in 1-2 or 1-4. This is mainly because of the dragons, but other natural hazards work just as well. Due to the short stun, an enemy hit by the Lava Bow will be more susceptible to other attacks, both from you or environmental hazards. For instance, you can hit enemies in time with one of the dragon's flame bursts. Other dangerous areas to take advantage of include 3-1 in front of the arrow walkway and 5-2 in the poison.
Has the highest durability of any bow/crossbow in the game
This weapon cannot be upgraded.
|Name:||Names displayed are according to the Atlus (NA) version of the game. Name changes from the Asian version, if any, will appear in parentheses.|
|Damage:||The Damage stat dictates how much damage the weapon does. The Damage stats for a bow or crossbow are X/Y:
Damage is further modified by the types of arrows or bolts used.
|Range:||The Range determines the maximum distance an arrow or bolt can be fired. Damage will decrease proportionately with the Range stat the further the arrow/bolt travels.|
|Durability:||The durability of the weapon. The effectiveness of the weapon will severely deteriorate when the durability falls below 30%.|
|Weight:||The weight of the weapon. Note that carrying over 50% of your Equip Weight will reduce the speed of your rolls, while going over 100% will reduce your regular speed to walking and attempts to roll or backstep will leave you momentarily stunned.|
|Requirements:||The Requirements determines how high various Stats must be in order to wield the weapon effectively. The Requirement stats for an weapon are W/X/Y/Z:
Wielding a weapon without the required Strength and/or Dexterity will incur a penalty to the Physical damage of the weapon, while lower-than-required Magic and/or Faith will reduce the Magic damage of the weapon.
Also keep in mind that your character gains a 50% bonus to Strength by wielding a weapon with both hands, thus reducing the actual Strength required. For example, a character with 18 Strength can wield a Great Axe (Requires 26 Strength) properly if she holds the weapon with both hands (18 x 1.5 = 27).
|Stat Bonuses:||The Stat Bonuses rating indicates the level of bonus you receive based on the associated Stat when you use a weapon. This rating can be S, A, B, C, D, or E (in order from most to least bonus for the associated skill).|
